Maria, the beautiful town walls and the historical centre. Borgo Giannotti is considered to be the prolongation of the centre – here you may find many shopping opportunities, bars and characteristic restaurants. The lanes of this district are full of people especially in September – because of many markets, events and tastings of local products. Lucca is a charming art city, surrounded by an intact town wall – rich of antique “palazzi”, churches and squares and exciting spots. Discover in these lanes old fashioned and characteristic shops and typical regional restaurants. With other words – a fascinating city, which needs to be seen!The many events all year over make Lucca a destination in any season – the mention only a few of them: comics and games fair for comics lovers, the lyric season during October and November, the religious and classic concerts of the many churches, from April till June, “settembre Lucchese” with its numerous folkloristic and religious events, the Summer Festival with its national and international acts during July and August, the many open-air markets and the important market of antiques which takes place in the lanes and squares of the centre every third weekend of a month.
