"After some terrible train trouble in Italy, we got here after check in was closed. I called ahead of closing and the staff were so lovely, helpful and understanding about our situation and figured out a solution for us. Pool and sauna is open 24/7 and the can also book massages at the desk on check in."

"We stayed at the Waldhotel for two nights where we enjoyed hiking and the amazing scenic views of the Alps. Hotel had breathtaking views of the Alps. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was large and updated. We did have a challenge figuring out all of the electronics to get the lights on and shades closed."

"Very much a vintage hotel experience. I had an excellent mountain view, which I was able to enjoy from bed every morning. The cleaning crew were efficient and very good. The staff was very helpful with planning alternative hikes. I chose to walk the 800m from the train station, which for me was very doable. However, I am very fit and this may not be an option for everyone. The breakfast buffet was very good. I also had dinner at the hotel restaurant, Nico's, which was excellent. It was my best dining experience in Kandersteg and during my stay in Switzerland. The spa was small, but clean and very relaxing. I highly recommend staying here and would absolutely re-visit if I come back to Switzerland. "

"Chalet Rana was absolutely perfect for our visit. We stayed along with our 3 adult kids. Home was spotless and stocked with lots of amenities. The views from the deck were spectacular-especially for this Chicago family. Sabine was an amazing host. She met us at the home and walked us through, taking time to show us how everything operated including the all important coffee maker and dishwasher. Sabine also unbelievably baked us a cake for my son’s birthday when she discovered that the local store could not make a nut-free version. While weather was not particularly cooperative, we went on several hikes that start right from the Chalet. What a memorable visit! Highly recommended. Be SURE to plan a dinner the Berghaus"
