We really enjoyed our stay at the Hemlock. We received a call that we could check-in early at 2:30pm which was great, and upon arrival the cabin was absolutely spotless. We hadn't originally planned on using the kitchen much, but were pleasantly surprised to see all of the provided cookware was brand new and lots of it. Plenty of bath towels, garbage bags, etc. were provided and more were available at the front office if needed. The proximity to the parks is absolutely fantastic. The cabin is secluded enough from other buildings on the property and very quiet and peaceful. The hot tub was clean, well maintained and very much enjoyed after long days of hiking. The wi-fi was a bit spotty at times and is limited to 1-2 users at a time. There are instructions on how to reset the router, which we needed to do a few times and that typically fixed the problem. This wasn't a huge issue as our main reason for going on this trip was to unplug. There is little to no service driving to the parks, so we were dependent on following road signs and paper maps as opposed to GPS. The road signs are easy to follow. Our only issue and the reason for giving this cabin 4 stars was the lack of heat in the lower level, which includes a bedroom with (2) queen beds and the larger bathroom with a shower, (2) sinks and the sauna. The weather was in the 60's and low 70's while there and it was significantly colder on the lower level, especially at night. There is a manual wall/space heater in both the bathroom and bedroom, which works great and heats things up quick. But it is manual, and needs to be turned off and on as needed and while attended. We would heat the sleeping area up significantly before going to bed and that was comfortable, but I needed to get up at least once again in the middle of each night and again early morning to let it run 5-10 minutes more as the room got cold again. In the warmer summer months this would be a non-issue and the cooler lower level would be welcomed. It just would have been nice to have a non-manual heating option downstairs that kept things warm. Overall we loved the Hemlock cabin and would stay there again!
