The main bed was comfortable BUT the futon's were actually chairs that folded out and they were EXTREMELY uncomfortable. There was no staff available. It was all contactless. The bar was the same no people. If you didn't have cell phone to use the QR code you could not get a drink. The breakfast if you didn't pay for it in advance was not available as expected. I found the place charming but unwelcoming. However...

"This is a beautiful spot. Breakfast was very good. The room was clean. Only complaint is we couldn’t turn the heater off in our room. The front clerk said would look after and then when we asked again later she said maintenance gone home so eventually it would turn off as was on a timer. It did but we had both windows open until about 9pm. The other two staff we interacted with were lovely."

"The cottage is well equipped and comfortable. The location is very peaceful with plenty of wild life on the doorstep. If you're prepared to drive for an hour or two, you can easily get to different areas of Scotland on the west, east or north coast to find the best weather. Or stay at home for a BBQ if it is dry.
