Saltworks in Tasmania
This property is in a lovely location. Right near the beach and an olive orchard. The accommodation is rustic, very comfortable, and has lots of amenities. While there is some marginal WiFi access 15-20 minutes away, the home does not have any, but if you have decent internet you might be able to get a signal. Groceries and other basic necessities are 20 minutes a way (north or south) so just be prepared. If you are, Saltworks is a wonderful getaway, near some amazing natural places to visit. Would recommend a day time arrival as the drive is windy and dark and LOTS of animals darting across the roads. Overall, would highly recommend Saltworks. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets.

Relaxing stay at a beautiful property
We had an excellent stay at Saltworks Beach House. Tam and Mercia clearly thought through the needs of their guests and we found we had everything we needed, plus lots of fun extras (beach toys, beach towels, games, etc). Thanks for a great stay!

Perfect getaway
Thank you Mercia and Tam for sharing your wonderful beach house! We had a wonderful few days here for a family get together. The house and location were amazing! We appreciated all of the thoughtful extras such as board games and beach towels. Communication prior to arrival was excellent and we were made to feel very welcome. We only wish we had more time. Highly recommended!

Simply a great place!
This is the second time we have stayed and it is as perfect as ever. Stunning views, tasteful furnishings, great spaces for friends to share time together, great for swimming and walking, very well equipped kitchen, warm…we look forward to staying again!

Celebrating our Mum's 90th Birthday
This property is absolutely beautiful.The views are to die for and extremely clean.We were celebrating our Mum's 90th Birthday and she loved it all.There is a gorgeous kitchen/lounge area with a great big open fire and an Aircon,which we enjoyed a few drinks around every night.The property is so well catered for as they supplied things you wouldn't expect and was very appreciated. Spotlessly clean and very well kept.The beach was a short walk and stunning,my Grandson even went for a swim..well with some encouragement 🤣..At the end of the road there is a nature reserve and a jetty and the walks of a morning were beautiful. I highly recommend this stunning home to anyone wanting a quiet getaway to just chill and relax or get out and about and explore all the history the area has to offer. A very pleasant stay

Cute beach house
Our extended family enjoyed the beach house, it was clean and had good amenities and really conveniently located to a small beach. We were using this house as a base to travel to Freycinet National Park so didn’t get time to enjoy the beach as much.

Family holiday
We loved everything about the property and had a wonderful stay. The property is spacious, well equipped, and cosy. The kitchen is very well appointed with all that you could need to cook up a storm. The beds were comfortable, and it was lovely to hear the ocean. The host Mercia communicated detailed instructions on how to find the property and was easy to contact when we had an issue upon our arrival. Even though the weather was grey and miserable we were able to explore the beach and surrounds between the rain showers. Fantastic spot for a peaceful & relaxed family getaway.
An attractive and well thought out property for family groups. We were 2 X families of 4, both with young children. Sublime location, with a practically private beach, large grassed yard for the kids to play outside, tastefully decorated, and every detail well thought out (kids toys, kitchen utensils, etc). Plenty of room indoors, lending to various activities ( the sunroom became a favourite "craft space" for our kids during the stay. Thanks again Mercia and Tam!

A lovely and roomy house with beautiful views of the Freycinet.
We had a lovely weekend. Even though the weather was wet we were able to keep cosy in the renovated stone cottage section of the house. The host was quick to respond to communication and gave good directions.

History with a View
This is a beautifully restored historic stone cottage with a modern extension. The property is spacious and very well appointed. The layout gives space and privacy to larger groups travelling together. However, the multiple living areas also means it is equally warm and cosy for a smaller group. The property has a modern kitchen with every appliance needed to whip up a gourmet meal with locally sourced produce. The open fireplace and large dining/lounge room encourages chatting with a red wine in hand. The location was perfect for us. Quiet with stunning ocean views. A very short stroll to a white sand beach. Off the beaten track but close enough smaller towns, wineries, etc... Our host Mercia was wonderful and very accommodating. We had to reschedule our stay due to COVID lock downs and Mercia went out off her way to assist us. Extremely helpful and responsive to all communications. We can not recommend the Saltworks Beach House enough. We could continue with more superlatives but you should discover more highlights for yourselves.

Gorgeous destination and accommodation
The house was so homely and well equipped. Many different areas to sit and enjoy the surrounds with a great kitchen/living area. Ideal spot for a truly relaxing, quiet getaway. We loved it. Felt very special.

Atmospheric historic property, great location
Really enjoyed my stay at this lovely property. Communication with the owner was great - detailed instructions on how to find and access the property made arrival a breeze. Sited on the edge of a coastal reserve, just made for long walks along deserted, pristine white sandy beaches, this property was wonderfully located for a totally relaxing stay. Loved the fact that everything was provided to create a fire in the huge fireplace, including plenty of wood (unlike in many properties which promote the fact that there is a fire, but discourage you from actually using it by not providing matches/ wood etc). This is a really well equipped property - can’t think of anything I needed that wasn’t there. All round, a fabulous property.

A unique property in a unique part of Australia
Saltworks Cottage is well thought out blend of the old and the new. The location is absolutely beautiful. The home is very comfortable and cosy. It is very well presented by Mercia and Tam. The history of the area and home is fascinating. Highly recommended this property for a "get away from it all" experience in a home of warmth and interesting architecture.

The Salt Works Beach House was absolutely perfect. Nothing could have made it a better place for a long weekend away with old friends. The location, the well-equipped kitchen, the thoughtful touches (fire was set ready to light and it worked a treat) and beach towels (yes, I did go for a swim even though it was October and not quite warm enough really!). Not to mention the views and beaches so close by. The atmosphere in amongst the olives and the sunny spots for reading / talking in side and out all made it a perfect place for a holiday. A beautiful week in a fantastic property
We loved everything about this beautiful property on the east coast of Tasmania. The property was clean and very comfortable and we all enjoyed sitting in front of the open fire doing one of the supplied puzzles. The new kitchen was well equipped and easily produced meals for the eight of us. We were also well placed for visiting Hobart and Bisheno and Freycinet. A perfect location for day trips walks along the beach or just sitting enjoying the perfect view. We will be back.

A perfect retreat
We loved this property and will definitely return. The beach frontage, and a pleasant one hours drive to the Freycinet attractions meant that the more active could do the longer, iconic walks, whilst I enjoyed the restful property and the beach walks which were virtually for ourselves alone. My partner could also travel from Hobart to join us in the evenings, so it suited all our needs. At night the fire was beautifully warm, the house was restful and calm. But, our stay was too short! Thank you Marcia and Tam for sharing your wonderful and comfortable beach house. It provided the perfect temporary home away from home for our varied group, young and old.

A group of friends had a wonderful week at Saltworks Beach House. The house was very comfortable and we loved the sun room which had the most amazing view of the beach. The kitchen was very well equipped and there were many thoughful touches scattered throughout the house to make our stay very pleasant. Would highly recommend the property.
