Disappointed
First let me say the owners were very nice and communicated well with us . The apartment was in a lower rent area of Lisbon . We felt safe . We are all in our 60’s and in good shape . When we saw the steps we had to conquer we were a bit blown away . Remember we have luggage to haul to the door . 40 steps down to the door . Another 40 steps to the street below . We realize that Lisbon is hills and steps but in the description it said ground floor apt . Well yes in a 5 story building . We had to go 2 more flights once inside . If any of us had mobility issues , we would have been in big trouble . The place is a bit dark do to lack of windows . The back courtyard was the biggest disappointment. We like to sit outside for glass of wine . We did not venture out . It was filthy and covered in green alge on the walls . The foyer of the building was filthy. Not a great first impression. We were visited by two giant cockroaches. Mold in showers . The stove top did not light without a lighter and they said it was not fixable. The gave us a bottle of wine , for the inconvenience. On demand hot water was hit or miss . Just didn’t live up to the other VRBO’s we have used in the past .
