We were unfortunate to stay in Lisbon during the July heat wave. BeGuest knew that the highs were going to be extreme while we were staying in their property. They declined to inform us that one of the main ways to regulate temperature in the unit was broken. The metal exterior shutters make a big difference in inside temperatures especially when getting direct sunlight for the entire afternoon. The shutters for the living room and dining rooms areas were inoperable, allowing temperatures inside the unit to climb to an unbearable degree. We were unable to use the living room and dining room for the first 5 days of our stay. That’s really unfortunate since those also happen to be the only rooms where the WiFi reach. The “fans” that are in the unit are a complete joke. Our children’s feet were filthy right after a bath just from walking around getting ready for bed. There is mold in every bathroom and some bedrooms. I will say it is very conveniently located to all transit. Overall our stay was terrible and we could only handle being there from 8 pm- 8 am due to the heat and shutters not working. I think the honest thing BeGuest should have done was let us know about the shutters being broken during a historic heat wave and allowed us to cancel or offer different accommodations that had everything operational. BeGuest had terrible customer service for and made zero effort to help make our stay more comfortable.
