The apartment was spacious, clean, and conveniently located, just a 15–20-minute walk from Praça do Comércio and the center of Lisbon. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end.The condition of the apartment did not match the photos or justify the high price. Most of the furniture was inexpensive IKEA furniture, some of it old or damaged. The mattresses were uncomfortable, the pillows were terrible, and the towels were old and worn out. The bathrooms, especially one of them, were outdated and badly in need of renovation.One of the biggest issues was a bedroom next to the stairwell. The headboard was placed directly against an old door leading to the stairs, which had simply been closed off and covered with a piece of fabric. There was practically no soundproofing. Every conversation and footstep sounded as if someone were standing right next to the bed, making it almost impossible to sleep.We were also given only one key for three guests, which was very inconvenient whenever we had different schedules. On top of the already high price, we had to pay extra per night for the third guest.Overall, the apartment looked much better in the photos than it did in reality. Despite its generous size and convenient location, the quality of the accommodation simply did not justify the price we paid.
