"Deze accommodatie was niets wat we hadden verwacht. Het was zeer verouderd. Er was geen Wifi. Er was een wasmachine maar die liep door de badkamer als hij draaide. De stoelen op het terras waren kapot en de kussens beschimmeld. De check-in duurde heel lang omdat het huisnummer niet werd doorgegeven. "We had a nice large apartment with good facilities and very comfortable beds. The staff were all very friendly, efficient and helpful. However in our apartment the noise from outside and the adjoining laundry was awful. There really needs to be better sound insulation for everyone’s comfort. Although beyond the managements control the barking dog outside was most unwelcome for hours on end in the middle of the night."

"Tucked out of the way, Hotel Playa Bemón became a refuge for me from the hurly burly of both Santander City and the more conspicuous hotels in Somo. I enjoyed a magnificent two nights of perfect sleep. There was also the business of a delightful 30 minute ferry ride from a cute little slip just a few minutes walk from the Santander bus depot. All of this just totally enchanting. In the evening glorious sunsets from the beach at Somo, overlooking the bay and Santander. The Hotel staff was friendly, helpful and efficient. No complaints of any kind, really. On both mornings of my two-day stay I ambled over to the Somo beach and found surfers galore--there was an international surf meet going on--and delighted in watching them ply their skills on the waves. "catch a wave and you're sitting on top of the world" the Beach Boys sang back in the early 1960's. True to form here. I also enjoyed a fantastic dinner in one of the sophisticated eateries in the small town of Somo. Fresh seafood, good wine, excellent service. I highly recommend the experience of visiting Somo and staying at the Hotel Playa Bemón."

URH Palacio de Oriol Hotel

"This is great hotel, either as a stopover before you get a ferry from Bilbao Port (5 minutes drive) or spending a couple of days visiting Bilbao city as transport into the cityis very accessible. Rooms are quiet, air-conditioned (but could have been more efficient) and have tea/coffee makong facility and a fridge. There is an underground carpark for a small additional fee, which keeps motorcycles safe. We have stayed here twice, both occasions there were wedding events, but still we had a quiet night. The restaurant is okay, especially if you don't want to explore Santurtzi. Lovely friendly waiting staff who knew how to make a good cocktail. Highly recommend this accommodation."
