The hallways are bright and the whole facility is inviting with the open feeling, large and comfortable seating in the reception area and breakfast area. Staff on check in and check out, including housekeeper were friendly and professional."

Also, just a short drive & quick border-crossing to the Frederick Remington Museum (western art & sculpture) in Ogdensburg NY. Local recommendations include the lamb rosemary meat pies made at B&H Grocery and the Tip-to-Tip trail, an easy 3-mile canal hike in Burritt’s Rapids. "Cozy, clean, calm, cottage with canoes! We stayed here once two summers ago and my son asked us about it this year, prompting us to plan another getaway. We booked two nights for us and our friends with their toddler. We spent the whole time in or around the house or the beach, relaxing. Kayaking on the river and seeing the goats are highlights each time. Renfu is very hospitable, answering all our questions and keeping the grounds tidy. We cooked using the barbecue and kitchen, and enjoyed! The game room was a hangout space for my kids and as an extra nice touch the house has some other indoor activities for children which my little ones loved. We hope to come back!"
