"We stayed at the La Folie Douce Hotel while Chamonix was mobbed by ultra athletes competing in the 2024 UTMB ultra marathon, so the room prices were sky-high. We paid much to much for a very small dormitory style room. The hotel was clean an well maintained, and the buffet breakfast was outstanding. I would recommend this hotel if the price was acceptable."

"The spa is wonderfully relaxing after a long drive and for a while we had it all to ourselves. We were warmly welcomed on arrival. The location is close to the center though that wasn’t of importance to us. The new fondue restaurant is great value and the food was very tasty as well as the wine by the glass."

"Very good location , spacious room. Only down side is the toilet, it was small and separated ( in another room) from the shower and basin. I did not like the pillows. But I guess this is personal preference. The room is very clean. And the lady who cleans the room daily tidy it very well. The receptionists are very cooperative and friendly. In summary I recommend the hotel. "

"Our room was on the side facing the bus loading area and was quite noisy. Also it was hot. No AC but had to close windows because of noise. On the plus side they had a very nice pool and great restaurant. Also I left a pair if glasses there and they mailed them home."

"Cute property close to the main town. Rooms were a decent size, bathroom was tiny and not enough towels. Wifi patchy in the rooms. Some rooms not the most convenient to get to - eg up a very narrow flight of stairs then down another. This was tricky to navigate with luggage and a little unsafe."

"Le Hameau Albert 1er is a wonderful world of its own in the middle of the beautiful town of Chamonix. It is quiet and scenic surrounded by mountains. As we pulled in we didn’t know what to expect but it is charm filled and historic. Moments from the town and train station it is the heart of it all and yet a magical world unto itself. The pool was wonderful. The staff was helpful and kind and the owner, who is the 5th generation to run this lovely place, was on site. The rooms were on the cozy...

"Location: Easy to locate. Just off the main road thru Chamonix so easy access to drive north or south out of town. You can walk everywhere and the train station is also only a 10 min walk away. Staff: Wonderful and helpful. Very informative and a pleasure to deal with. Room: We had a one bedroom that was Wonderful. It was modern, clean and spacious and had the supplies we needed for a 4 night stay. I recommend and certainly would stay here again."
