About this property

3 Bed in Askrigg (oc-ds926)

  • This traditional, three-bedroom stone cottage enjoys a rural setting and lies between the villages of Bainbridge and Askrigg in the Yorkshire Dales. It’s a lovely home for a family or group of friends plus two dogs looking to explore the beautiful landscape.

Inside, a sense of tranquillity sweeps through the property with brilliant white walls, wooden beams, and stained glass windows adding charm and character to the rooms. An Inglenook fireplace and soft furnishings make the lounge an inviting spot and after a day on the Dales, you can sit and chat or contemplate the hills from the comfort of the sofa. When it’s time to eat, step through to the kitchen and rustle up a hearty meal then serve it at the sociable table with seating for six people. When the day draws to an end, head upstairs to the first floor where the three bedrooms are located. Featuring two doubles and a twin, the bedrooms are simple and comfortable and boast sublime views over the Dale. There’s also a bathroom on this floor. Outside, there’s a tranquil garden with an extensive lawn and uninterrupted views. With nothing to disturb you here, simply sit at the garden table, bask in the sun, and feel your spirits lift.

Enjoy countryside walks straight from the door with the Dales offering plenty of hiking and cycling trails. The market town of Hawes (5.5 miles) is a pretty place to visit and has a good selection of local shops, inns, and restaurants. While in Hawes be sure to visit the Wensleydale Creamery. Learn about the cheese-making process and sample the famous Wensleydale cheese too.

Summer family break

I visited Luke's House with my 2 teenage sons, 15 & 18 yrs. We wanted a base for a walking holiday and it was perfect. The views were spectacular and the road very quiet; rush hour was the local dairy herd on their daily amble to the milking parlour. We were a mile outside the village of Bainbridge and about the same from Askrigg, there was a choice of places to eat, a local butchers and petrol station. Hawes was a 15 minute drive. The house had everything we needed, was well equipped, clean and comfortable. There were lots of walks from the house and we saw deer, hares and lots of birds. There wasn't any wifi, which meant the kids talked - BONUS!!! Thank you so much. Ingrid Flutes Cottages are great to deal with. We hope to visit again soon. Thank you.
