Outside, there is a wrap-around enclosed garden with patio, lawn, furniture and off-road parking for 1 car. Within 2.4 miles, you will find a shop, and within 1 mile, a pub. One well-behaved pet. Sorry, no smoking. WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen, and towels included in the rent. A stay at Newstead Farmhouse promises to be one to remember. Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £300. Note: A starter pack of logs will be provided. Anything beyond this will be payable directly to the owner or by contacting Sykes £10 per bag. PLEASE READ - Note from owner - From the 18th of April to the 2nd of May 2026, building work will be taking place on the roof of the barn adjacent to the property, works may commence from 8am. The barn is not connected but visible from the house, therefore we have applied a 30% discount for these two weeks.

The peaceful rural hamlet of East Chelborough sits on the Dorset side of the Somerset/Dorset border, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, 7 miles south of Yeovil, and 2 miles from the picturesque village of Evershot, which features in the Thomas Hardy novel ‘Tess of the D’Urbervilles’. This lovely area is dotted with walks, and pretty villages of thatched cottages, and lies just south of the 125-acre Sutton Bingham reservoir, home to many migrant birds including osprey, as well as having excellent facilities for fishing. A short drive takes you to ancient Sherborne with its lovely abbey and castle, and boasts a wealth of fascinating shops to explore. Alternatively, Thomas Hardy’s Dorchester, Montecute House, Forde Abbey and Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum are all easily accessible. An attractive rural hamlet, also an easy drive from Dorset’s stunning Jurassic Coast, offering a tranquil and convenient base from which to tour this superb area.
