"A lovely newly refurbished house. I loved the premium quality cotton sheets and duvet cover. A super kingsize bed, which was very comfortable. The breakfast was freshly squeezed orange juice( rare) bread, mini viennoiserie and home made jams. The hosts were very friendly and spoke English. The village is very peaceful, and the countryside all around is lovely. A great place to stay"
"If you want a truly old France experience, this is the place ! Lovely friendly couple who have turned their 19c priory into a b & b, retaining all the character and architecture of the period, as well as the furniture. Good bathroom facilities and good value for money. The surrounding rural area is stunning. "

Tucked among rolling vineyards, this Champagne village boasts three distinct AOC designations and charming 16th-century churches worth exploring. Sample the region's famous rosé Champagne at family-run cellars, then wander the historic streets with their distinctive pink limestone buildings.
"We (retired Brit couple) have stayed at Val Moret many times over 20 years or so. Dinner at the restaurant is always a highlight and the most recently acquired chef has increased the already delicious standards.
Rooms are clean and comfortable, all one needs for a night’s journey stopover. (I suspect few people book a week’s holiday here but a few nights would be entirely reasonable).
During 2025 there are building works progressing toward enlargement of the restaurant and reception. The work isn’t at all disruptive or intrusive, particularly for rooms further away. If the end result enhances the bar area that will be a great improvement, as the existing bar facilities are about the only thing that let the place down currently.
We haven’t used the spa but it looks good.
Finally, credit must be given to famille Marisy (and particularly to Mme, who apparently never sleeps) who work tirelessly for the comfort of their guests. It’s really good to see a family business thriving in this ever increasingly conglomerate dominated industry."
"Property is quite beautiful in a shabby chic kind of way, although the ground is relatively small. Food is decent, but nothing too memorable. We didn’t realise it has a Michelin star, so decided to pay the premium as we didn’t want to go out after a long drive from Calais. Restaurant service was not great to be honest, we had to keep asking for our wine glass to be replenished, even though they didn’t seem to be short of staff.
