These are the slopes of the Petit Aguille Vert in the Mont Blanc Massif near Argentiere, France. The ascent was up a snow-ice slope of about 40 degrees so not technically difficult. The main difficulty was it's length and huge bergschrund to negotiate. Not so bad going up, but very difficult descending as next photo shows. Access the climb from the Grand Montets cable car. #frenchalps #mountaineering
