The best area to stay in Lemuy is within the village itself or in one of the surrounding hamlets like Montot or Le Puits, for a genuine Burgundian experience.

Within Lemuy village, you'll find a quiet, traditional rural setting. The village is small, centred around its church and a few local buildings. It's an excellent base for exploring the Morvan Regional Natural Park, with many walking and cycling routes directly accessible from the village roads. Families often appreciate the calm environment and space for children to play.

For couples seeking a more secluded and romantic stay, the hamlets of Montot or Le Puits offer beautifully converted gîtes (holiday cottages) or chambres d'hôtes (bed and breakfasts). These are often set amidst rolling countryside, providing peaceful views and a chance to truly unwind.

The best time to visit Lemuy is during the late spring and early autumn months, specifically May, June, September, and early October.

These periods offer pleasant weather, with comfortable temperatures ideal for exploring the Burgundian countryside without the intense heat of mid-summer or the chill of winter. You'll find the vineyards at their most picturesque, either bursting with new growth or adorned with autumnal colours.

For those keen to experience the grape harvest, late September to early October is an excellent choice. You'll witness the region's agricultural heart in full swing, and many local producers offer special tastings and tours during this time. It's a truly authentic experience for visitors interested in local traditions and gastronomy.

If you prefer fewer crowds and a slightly quieter experience, May and early June are perfect. The gardens are in bloom, and the longer daylight hours allow for extended exploration of the local châteaux and markets.
