Loved our stay at Grand Kumala. Rebooked for March next year. The bathroom could use a good scrub and the beds could use a mattress topper but we loved it … the staff, the location, the simple but ample breakfast, the pools, the food and service were amazing .. definitely recommend if you like Bali style living 👍

Grand Kumala is old but it is great value. If you can accept a number of deficiencies in the rooms then it is worth the stay. The staff are lovely, the pools fine (can always get a sun bed) breakfast is basic but more than adequate. No kettles or toiletries so bring your own. Beds firm. Rooms serviced daily. I had no problem with internet. Will be staying again.

We had to change rooms several times due to lack of maintenance and cleanliness in some of the rooms. The rooms had broken showers, basins taps, air conditioners, and mould problems. We have stayed there before and some rooms are better than others but you have to be lucky! There is a very rude male staff member at breakfast who needs to learn how to speak to guests in a more polite manner. However the pool and restaurant are quite good.

Great budget option

This is a great budget option. Although it is much more enjoyable in the quiet season than the busy. Clean enough. Good breakfast. Location is great. Could do with some more maintenance. But for the price it is alright.

Fair price, good value

First time in Bali, didn’t know what to expect. Hotel was inexpensive, had air conditioning. A little run down, but they are working on it. Breakfast included, just fruit, eggs and bread with juice, coffee or tea. Also something Indonesia daily. Comfortable enough and pretty close to beach.
