Rudyard vacation

The location and security of this property is excellent especially if you are looking for a place to take your beloved pooch but sadly the attention to detail inside the property is lacking.. The property needs a through deep clean ( marks on walls including squashed midges and bearing in mind this is only May), excessive cob webs on the beams and in the windows and the lack of luxury in the bedding and towels department needs urgent attention . Local information was available in a fruit bowl and you had to hunt around for a folder which was not completed properly to find out how to use the cooker and microwave. I must admit I have stayed in this area in the past in better properties with a similar price range .

Perfect Place To Get Away From It All & Relax!

This was the perfect get away for us, so cozy inside, views are amazing and you are right on the water! Great walks and the property is "pet friendly" so we took our westie Jack with us who really enjoyed his stay! Coffee shop next door is really nice and the cakes are delicious! Joe the owner was very accommodating with communication and instructions of what to do. Road up to the property was very tight but definitely worth it, peace & quiet, would definitely recommend!

As always a stunning location and had a wonderful time.

As always a stunning location and had a wonderful time. Only reason for lower scores were quality of duvet pillows and towels not to my taste personally prefer 100% cotton and feathers and bath sheets, But understand harder to clean. Also equipment seems to get more minimal every visit. Very posh coffee machine with no instructions and no basic cafeterie. Would love some comfortable outside furniture too. Appreciate these are all nip picking as we all had a very special time and love the location and will hopefully return. Would always recommend this magical boathouse. Our favourite place.

Our favourite place. Private, picturesque, relaxing. Beautiful walks from the doorstep around the lake. Close enough to Leek for any supplies needed. Inglenook is so lovely to go home to after a day out admiring the beautiful scenery of the area. Warm, bright and airy and well equipped, comfy bed and sofa. Love it. Wonderful accommodation.

Wonderful accommodation. Although right next to the sailing club, as there were no events going on there it was quiet and tranquil. How it would have been if there were a party or a wedding doing on, I can only speculate. Perfect for a relaxing break right on the lakeside.

Unique beautiful location.

Unique beautiful location. Small well designed equipped cottage. Steep entry to cottage, steep steps to bedroom and high large bed which could be a problem to those less mobile. Highly recommend.

If you want peace and quiet then come here. The standard of accomadation is excellent and outlook is beautiful. It's a lovely walk into Rudyard and around the Lake and only a 10 minute drive into Leek which we found surprisingly nice. It's a wonderful get away from it all break !

A really lovely, peaceful place to stay with lots to see and do within very easy reach.

A really lovely, peaceful place to stay with lots to see and do within very easy reach. There was a wedding party at the Sailing Club next door when we stayed but - amazingly - we weren't disturbed at all apart from the thump of the music which stopped promptly at 11.00pm.

Lovely cottage with great views over the lake.

Lovely cottage with great views over the lake. My husband had some great fishing. I wish that the cottage had a boat that I could have used as I was not able to hire one. Next time we visit would try to make arrangements with the sailing or canoeing club or take my own. If you are looking for a quiet relaxed place to visit for a few days would definitely recommend.

Super location, wonderful views across the lake especially in the Autumn when the foliage on the trees is glorious. Good for walking and exploring, Tittesworth reservoir is well worth a visit. As might be expected the property is a little out of the way and the final approach is by essentially a single track road, however this was never a problem. Just relax and watch the ever changing light on the lake and the birdlife upon it. Some people may find the sofa a little soft and this has been commented on before.

Lovely well equipped little boat house. Clean , warm and inviting. Enough blinds and curtains to shut the world out if you so wish. Fantastic location to get away from it all.

Inglenook is a beautifully appointed bijou holiday home.

Inglenook is a beautifully appointed bijou holiday home. We loved the privacy; the facilities were all very comfortable, and everything we needed was provided. The fact that it's doggy friendly is really refreshing - it's clearly had lots of dogs visiting from reading the visitor book, but it's really clean and well kept, so you wouldn't know unless you knew!
