This house was perfect for housing a large group. We were only there 1 day but we would have liked to stay longer. The house was very close to many restaurants and shops. The house was one of my favorite I've ever rented. In addition to the clean, spacious, and great communication with hosts, it was fun to explore. It was a dream house for the kids to play hide and seek.
Thanks for sharing your house with us!
We came as an extended family (5 adults, 4 kids, 1 dog) to both celebrate my wife’s birthday and for Boom Days, with the main attraction the Burro Races. The home is ideal, only 2 blocks from the main drag, and plenty of room for all of us. Kids loved the hot tub. We only stayed one night so didn’t use many of the facilities, well appointed kitchen, washer and dryer, etc. The only downer was Boom Days does not want dogs, so we took turns walking him around the perimeter. Would recommend, especially for a good sized group.
The upstairs rooms weren’t the most inviting due to the very steep staircases with very short stairs. We were fortunate to have younger adults in our group to navigate those at night. The backyard was pretty messy with odd things strewn through the yard. And the neighbors yards were junky as well. Seating to all hang out in the evening wasn’t great either. We all couldn’t fit into the makeshift living room. House itself was clean.
We needed a large house that would sleep our extended family and have room for eating together, visiting, and storing kids’ ski helmets and snowsuits. This house was perfect. We cooked all our meals in the large kitchen, and at night the kids watched ice hockey on the TV in the living room while the adults sat around chatting at the big dining table, and everyone who wanted to enjoyed the sauna. The hot tub needed repairs while we were there, but the host generously gave us a discount for that and communicated quickly whenever we had a question. I highly recommend this house for families and friends. One thing to know: the two staircases to the upstairs bedrooms (on opposite sides of the house) are very steep. We had nimble little kids stay in one bedroom and one of the younger couples in our party take the other. The rest of us stayed happily on the first floor! It was a perfect stay. We will look for this house on future trips to Leadville.
As a group of ten this was the perfect spot for us to stay for the Leadville 100 MTB race. We were a quick four block walk to downtown and the start of the race.
If you like quirky 150 plus year old homes this is the spot for you with uneven floors, low doorways and an eclectic mix of furniture this is a fun house to make you feel as if you are immersed in Leadville.
The hot tub was clean and the perfect way to end each day.
The kitchen and its amenities could use some work. When sitting down to dinner we had to drink from mason jars, wine glasses and coffee mugs just to ensure everyone had something to drink from. Pots and pans were unorganized and the entire kitchen could use a make up over to make it more welcoming and user friendly.
The house next door also appeared to be under going renovations and we had to move stacks of lumber around to avoid stepping on them and the nails that were sticking out from much of the wood.
With some work and thoughtfulness to cleaning up the surrounding yard and kitchen this property could easily be a five star rental.
I recently stayed at this amazing house in Leadville, Colorado, over spring break with a group of friends, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! From the moment we arrived, the house felt like a cozy and spacious home away from home.
We come to Leadville many times a year for training camps and races. This is one of the best places we've stayed due to the bedding arrangement and the large kitchen. The sauna and hot tub don't hurt either!
There is also a good amount of space for hanging out between workouts.
Older home with plenty of room. Upstairs better for younger folks as the stairs are winding. Kitchen adequate and hot tub was great after a day out. Would definitely stay here again.
Loved the hot tub and sauna! These were perfect after a day at Ski Cooper. Everything else as expected, had what we needed and was clean. All the lock boxes on doors is a little odd but the character of this historic home is charming.
The house was perfect spot for our vacation. The proximity to the main street couldnt have been any more convenient. The history of the house was pretty cool amd the layout worked for a larger group. There can defintely be some upgrades in the house without compromising the original characters of the house (appliances, carpet, etc). The hot tub was a great amenity, however the water was dirty and needed to be cleaned. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would rent again.
Great place! Very interesting old home with a lot of character. We didn’t realize checkout was at 10 so we were late getting out the door and they were very understanding. Only downsides were that the hot tub smelled very chlorinated so we didn’t use. And we got locked out of one of the bedrooms for awhile bc the door lock jammed (which was scary bc my infant was in the room). And it took some time to get in touch with someone to help. There were a lot of doors w a lot of weird locks. But overall it was a great stay!!

Stay at Leadville
Property was nice and quaint. I would not recommend for younger people as it has no WIFI and the bathroom facilities are in general areas that are not comfortable to younger people (no privacy). Also, toilets are old and not very private in one location. Kitchen facilities are limited and appliances are old and in disrepair. No toaster but a toaster over which is old and not very efficient. Overall a very nice place but could be improved for guests.
We went to get away and have our own Lillie place for some solitude. Upon arrival we were skeptical of sharing a yard and some of the amenities. Turned out this time it was not too bad! We got to meet Pants which is a very large poodle with an even bigger heart he was very friendly and welcoming!!
Checking in and out was easy easy!! Property managers are great to communicate with.
We loved the uniqueness of the home from the pictures on line, later discovering it was possibly owned by the famous “unsinkable” Molly Brown!! That made it just that much better!!
Plenty of room for the four of us! Never felt crowded or on top of each other. If we get back we’re thinking we will try to rent out both sides of the home and bring a couple more girls along ☺️
