"Our apartment was very modern but the property still has a very historic and, especially, authentic country feel. Very much appreciated the wood stove at that time of year. Only critique was lack of any American TV. While we don't particularly travel to Portugal to watch TV, when we stay in country places at this time year we don't relish driving after dark. Next time we'll know to have our tablet ready for movies."

"Perfect location to relax and appreciate the beauty of nature. The hotel is placed in a quiet area, beatifully integrated in the landscape. The staff was very welcome, we had a massage service and it was the best massage we've ever had, the breakfast was delicious and adapted to our taste. Amazing experience. "Lovely, quiet place, close to very beautiful scenery and authentic Portuguese rural experience. Loved the burros! But like most pools in Portugal, too cold to use. Not sure why no one installs solar water heaters on a nearby roof top to heat the pool as it would be fairly inexpensive investment. Also wonder why most of all shower enclosures in Europe leak water onto the floor."

"Hotel virtually empty and in need of external refurbishment. The location and room quality are excellent. Restaurant and bar reasonable on quality and price. Located right next to a hydroelectric dam which creates lots of electricity, to be carried away through the many wires and pylons, and a little waterfall type noise.
