Absolutely loved the 4 days we spent there. Good place for relaxation. We got a sea view facing the east, sunrise from the balcony was absolutely splendid! A little far from the city, but the stay is well worth the travel and a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Oceanfront property. We loved coming out of the elevator from our room and there is the pool and beach! Breakfast is delicious variety of foods. Staff is so friendly and helpful. We made the perfect choice of all the hotels! Its Excellent!

Ok, so this is a top end elite resort. Although I will still give 5 stars, there are few things you should know; 1. No nighttime entertainment at all. I was there Friday, Sat, Sunday. Lounge was empty. If there was even just a piano player it would have been nice. Also nice for their business. 2. You are pretty much stuck in hotel. Sort of like a compound. Area around is island life. City is a hike and much traffic always. 3. If you plan on doing the Whale Shark excursion,sardines, sea turtles, do know that you will leave 3am, 3-4hour ride there, 5-6 hour ride back. The ride is not fun. 4. Same menu every night. Food was good, but again you can walk to anything. Otherwise, pools, view, rooms, beauty, service are all incredible. This place makes for Instagram Billionaire photos.

Stayed for 4 days, most of it was pleasant. The room was comfortable and clean, the pool was great (as a result chairs are hard to come by during busy hours), and the breakfast spread was good as well. Gym was pretty well equipped as well, although it gets quite hot in there. My main gripe was that the wifi in my room was basically unusable, and I had to rely on my phone data.

Very comfortable room, bed was firm, wifi was fast, and the buffet breakfast was probably one of the best we’ve had in our stay in Philippines, especially when wife is part of the Astoria group. The Bakery’s tall layered chocolate cake is amazing!

Staff extremely friendly and helpful. One of the most beautiful hotels I've ever been to. The view alone is to die for! And the pools are pristine! The buffet is delicious but the dinner menu is even better. The place is newer, I believe so there are nooks and crannies that are still under construction. The hotel is in a private secluded area but that shouldn't be an issue if you are searching for peace and quiet. The surrounding areas leading to the hotel is a bit sketchy but once you get into the hotel, it is definitely worth the trip.

The hotel offers beautiful seaview the moment you step into the lobby. The staff were always around to help even with the smallest of requests. All staff were polite and extremely service oriented. The king bed is very comfortable and the room is clean. What we didn't like was the half hour limit for the use of the recreation room and that use of other facilities like the kayak was payable at high charge. Usually resorts offer these amenities as part of the room charge. The breakfast spread is sumptuous, and the pork adobo deserves special mention.

We had an excellent, albeit short, stay at the Reef Island Resort. Although we were only there for a day between flights, we wish we could have stayed longer. The hotel and grounds are beautiful with many nice places to relax. The food in the restaurants was some of the best we have had in the Philippines. Our bed was so comfortable and the air conditioning was top notch. The view from the pool was beautiful. We enjoyed chatting with the helpful and friendly staff, namely Kyle and the two Kens. If we are ever back in Mactan we would definitely stay again, and would recommend this hotel without hesitation to anyone looking for a relaxing and rejuvenating stay.

We really enjoyed our stay here at the reef. The staff are great and looked after us. The menu is expensive. The slippers that come with the room are not appropriate attire for the hotel, I slipped twice and hurt my wrist due to the wet floors. There were also no wet floor signs at the time of me slipping, no one was around to help me, it hurt alot, I cried. Only wear the slippers in the room. The breakfast had lots of options but the overall vibe was not good, people overfilling their plates to the point of greed. You should charge for wastage because people did lots of wasting. The breakfast area was busy and not cleaned it wasn't very appealing.

Christmas Trip
I only stayed a couple nights at Christmas on my own and it was wonderful! The staff was so friendly and helpful with everything and all their food was delicious. I got a massage while there and also did some snorkeling on their beach. It looks small but I was able to see quite a variety of sealife there! Definitely would stay again!

Beautiful Resort
I wish I had more time to use the facilities while staying at The Reef. It truly is a beautiful and modern property. I love that it is an eco friendly resort. My only issue was that in my room, the air conditioning unit was leaking water. Not a few drops, but in the middle of the night an actual downpour of water. The water leaked into my suitcase and wet my items as well. This problem must keep happening as when the AC is not on and you enter the room, the room smells of mold terribly. I have an allergy to mold and this triggers me sneezing and being uncomfortable. The staff was very friendly, this was my only complaint but a quite big one.

The hotel staff was excellent! Their service was exceptional, very friendly and helpful! The room was spacious and comfortable. My only suggestion is to provide a wash/facecloth. The Reef offers liquid soap for the shower instead of a bar of soap. However, without a washcloth, it makes it less efficient.

The reed was such a nice resort. It has everything in one place you could need. The staff is very helpful and quick to ask if you need a hand. The room was very nice. Best bed we have had in a hotel in a very long time. Breakfast was delicious every day. Places smells really good I wish I knew what scent they used in the mister thing. Only down side is the taxis will charge extra to go out to it and half of them don’t understand where it’s all. You’ll have to pull it up on a gps and hand them your phone. And if you want to go into Cebu city they charge 50peso extra and it’s about a 40-50 min ride to the fun side of town. If you plan on staying in the resort it’s beautiful!!!! Or if you plan on staying in mactan it’s a very good choice. If you want to spend time in Cebu city consider the cost of taxis and the time it takes. Might be worth it to you or maybe not. To us it was. We just took into account the travel time and left early every day.

Nice property customer service could be re-visited, upon checkin we where told 4 times that only two bottles of water per day are included in the room charge, I wasn’t expecting more that two to be complementary, then at dinner we where told that asking for extra chilli sauce was also a chargeable item and the bar is only open Thurs - Sunday

We stayed for 3 nights x 3 rooms total. Pros: The staff members are extremely polite and welcoming, always ready to greet you with a smile and respect your privacy. There is a private beach in front of the resort with clean and clear water. The view from the balcony into the ocean or at the pool at night is extremely pretty. Quality service. Close to the airport and fair distance to near by smaller areas like Cordova etc... Very peaceful, private and quiet place and its new! Cons: There isnt much night life going on around here but there is a food court type of area within walking distance or a few mins driving from it called Newtown where you could get good foods. Once you get out of the resort it gets very dark around and the roads are unpaved partially, bumpy with lots of pot holes and hidden hazards at night. A little far from Cebu city or quite the distance to all the nice beaches around (Moalboal, Oslob or up north etc...)
