You are able to see houghton lake from the location as it’s at the beginning of the canal. Fun to watch boats come in and out. Only negative is that you are unable to swim at the property. You can either rent a boat or go to local beach to swim. Communication with the property managers was excellent, and they were responsive and helpful throughout the stay. The quiet surroundings and the lovely outdoor patio were particularly enjoyable. This rental is recommended to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable family getaway. "
