Boarders Inn & Suites by Cobblestone Hotels – Waukon
10/10 Excellent
"I had a great stay at Boarders Inn & Suites in Waukon. The hotel is run by a very nice family, and their excellent customer service truly stands out. They were warm, welcoming, and made sure I had everything I needed during my stay.
One suggestion that would make the experience even better is adding a laundry room for guests. It would be a helpful convenience, especially for longer stays.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for its comfort, cleanliness, and the wonderful people who run it."
"I hate to leave a bad reveiw but the lack of maintenance definitely made the stay less enjoyable than it could have been. As stated in another review, the hot tub was mangled up which left the top difficult to open. The shower in the bathroom did not shut off completely so there was constant noise from that (not just a drip). The floor in front of the shower has rotted from the constant water dripping and never being able to dry. The back door to access the hot tub, the handle was broken as stated in a previous review as well. The area is great and very peaceful. The firepit is nice and relaxing and the hot tub is nice to enjoy the nature once you can get the top off of it. The trout fishing is awesome with many places to try within a 30 minute drive. The wildlife is abundant in the area. With some maintenance this would be a great place to stay."
"We stayed at Eagle’s Nest from May 1–3 and had a very relaxing getaway overall. The cabin is in a remote-feeling location with beautiful views of the Mississippi River, which you can enjoy right from the hot tub—easily the highlight of our stay. Sitting in the tub watching trains pass and the bridge in the distance was a unique and peaceful experience. The property was clean on arrival and generally well maintained. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed to cook meals, and the living spaces felt cozy with plenty of seating and board games to enjoy. The separate apartment above the garage was also a nice, comfortable space. The bed was comfortable, and while the shower pressure was a bit low, there was reliable hot water and enough towels provided. The driveway is also quite steep, and the cabin sits right off the highway, which is something to be aware of when arriving.Host communication was solid—Gabby was easy to reach via phone/text and responsive when we needed check-in codes. She also kindly allowed a slightly late checkout, which we appreciated.Overall, this is a spacious, cozy cabin with great views—well suited for couples, families, or anyone looking for a quiet retreat."
