Didn’t disappoint. Awesome stay in the mountains
What a wonderful place. We rented for six days and were able to spend time with our son in college and have he and some friends over for a nice cookout. All the amenities listed were all top-notch. Property is accessible to mini hiking trails national Forest and (Parkway 40 minutes). Landrum has a couple grocery stores, restaurants, and shops, and close by the town Tryon. We definitely plan to be back. Host was very responsive for any questions in needs.

Quiet retreat
We had a wonderful pre-Christmas stay. Loved the location and the privacy. House had everything we needed to keep us entertained - the game room and hot tub were tons of fun. Would definitely recommend it for families or a group of friends.

Mountain Get Away
Our family and pet had a wonderful time. The pool and hot tub were great. Views from the deck and pool excellent. Any issue, only one, was delt with quickly. Any questions also answered quickly. Was nice to see so many stars again.

Softball Tournament Getaway
We stayed at the property for a weekend for our daughter’s softball tournament. Beautiful views from inside and out. We enjoyed cooking off in the large pool. Great local restaurants and grocery store close to property. We would definitely go back!!!

Awesome getaway
We really enjoyed our short stay here. It was amazing even looked better than the pictures. We loved the view from the house, the warm pool and the hot tub. Place was clean and everything was labeled and well organized. We did see a bear close to the property on both days we were there which was a bit scary but pretty cool. Overall it was an awesome place!!!

Doug was a great host, we had an issue with the internet and he took care of it quickly. The House was great and the pool was very nice and at the right temperature. House was also very close to town but felt like you was out in the middle of nowhere. We will definitely be coming back.

My family and I vacation every year together and this was definitely one of our favorite places. Beautiful, clean, had everything we could have possibly needed, and timely communication. We had six kids and they all loved this home. While also giving the 5 adults plenty of space to have quite time. The views are true to picture, breathtaking!

We took the family on a mountain getaway for Thanksgiving. The views from the living room were like a postcard! The extra large dining room was perfect for dinners and game nights. There are two living rooms with large tv's that allow the kids to have their own space. The kitchen was very large with lots of space and very nice appliances. We especially enjoyed the coffee bar that was fully stocked. So many nice things about this house! We enjoyed the hot tub but we want to return in the summer to be able to use the pool! I also should mention there are lots of towels and extra sheets, pillows, and blankets.

Magnificent views!
Bittersweet Retreat was one of the best homes we've rented thru vrbo. As a last minute get away we booked the stay and Doug responded quickly. It's a super location- much closer to Tryon (about 5 or 6 minutes) than we realized so we were able enjoy dining & shopping both in Landrum & Tryon, even though we were only there 3 days! The home is beautifully landscaped with nice grassy areas around the home- unlike many mountain homes you have alot of areas to walk around outside. There's a great firepit area, that you can have a bonfire or just sit amongst the trees and hedges to enjoy the peace and quiet. The pool is huge, clean and kept at a perfect temperature! There were several floats and very nice pool furniture to relax on while sunning! In fact there were many sitting areas outside, on the decks and around the pool and hot tub. The house is very well equipped and everything is labeled so we didn't have to rummage thru every cabinet to find things or flip every switch to figure out the lights- we loved that! Bed were very comfortable, bathrooms were just as pictured! But the most impressive part of this house are the incredible views from every room! With ceiling to floor windows and glass doors in every living area, the dining room and master bedroom, the views were phenomenal! Sunsets were a must see every night with the beautiful colors in the sky behind the mountains as the sun set! This was a great home and enjoyed the stay!

Pictures don’t do it justice
I have never stayed at a better stocked rental. I had a feeling that the owners genuinely wanted us to enjoy ourselves. The views are awesome. The pool is huge, and the layout of the house would be great for families- huge kitchen and dining rooms, bedrooms on one end. I look forward to staying here again soon.

WOW! This home is exactly as stated in the description and pictures! All you need to take with you is your clothes! The house has everything else that you need for your stay. Everything is just beautiful, the house, the location, the view, the swimming pool! You cannot go wrong booking this fabulous house! When we go back to this area, we will definitely be booking again! One more thing, Doug is awesome to work with!

Great vacation with incredible views
This property is amazing. The combination of incredible views, a large pool and a fully stocked house made for a great vacation for our extended family. The sunsets over the mountains were spectacular. We typically don't come back to the same property for another stay, but we're considering it for this house.

My wife and I stayed at the property for a week and didn’t want to come home. Upon coming up the drive you are first greeted by beautiful landscaping. Every day was long morning walks, afternoons in the pool, and incredibly peaceful nights watching the sun dip behind the hills. The house has everything! Plenty of towels, sheets, dishes, blankets, etc. You name it is probably there. It’s refreshing that an owner puts this much time and thought into a property. We will certainly be back!

It doesn’t get better!
Everything about our girls weekend at Butter Street Retreat was amazing! Doug was very quick to respond, and gave great check in/out directions. The house was immaculate, and even more beautiful in person. The views were incredible and the location can’t be beat. They have thought of and provided everything to make your stay easy and stress free. We are already planning a trip back!

This is simply an amazing place to stay. So much to do. Great quality for a rental house and for suppliesin the house, everything is labeled on the doors for knowledge. Views are most certainly breathtaking/amazing. Plenty of towels for showers and pool/hot tubs. Great sized beds and TVs. Definitely will be out there again for a vacation. Peaceful Perfection
My boyfriend and I absolutely loved our stay at Butter Street Retreat. Doug was very helpful, he responded quickly to any question we had. He even helped us choose a restaurant to celebrate our 10 years together. Nothing beats waking up to that view with the colorful trees reflecting off the pool and relaxing in the hot tub at night. The nearby towns were gorgeous and well manicured but not overly crowded. Lots of trails, waterfalls and nature to explore. We went to Chimney Rock, Green River Game Lands and Pearson's Falls. Also we challenge the next guests to beat Matt's score on Centipede 21,000 points! Haha it was so much fun. Thanks! We will be back! :)

A+++++ LOOK NO FURTHER!!
WOW A++++! LOOK NO FURTHER! I always wanted to find a rental property that was better than my own house...and this was IT!!! Neighbor is close...but not close enough to see in the yard or ever at the house. Pool was AMAZING...and included towels! This house was the best because it truly had EVERYTHING that you would need!! It made you feel like you were at a resort. They had coffee, clean grill...with extra propane if needed, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, soft blankets, clean linens, towels, POOL TOYS, shampoo, conditioner, body wash q-tips and MORE!! They even had a closet if you forgot anything including razors, toothbrushes, ponytail holders, etc. Everything was packaged for their guests that is why it felt like a resort. The view was PRICELESS and peaceful. I would DEFINITELY recommend this place and look forward to staying here in the future!! Doug, the owner, was just a text away!

This place was perfect. The attention to detail really shows. The kitchen is stocked for a family; everything is perfectly organized and clean. The pool is huge and the backdrop of the mountains speaks for itself. The bathrooms are beautiful. Even the firepit is perfectly set up so all you have to do is light the fire. We had the most amazing week here.

Highly recommend the Butter Street Retreat!
The Butter Street Retreat is the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway! The views are incredible. The house is very clean and organized. The kitchen has everything you need (and more!). The pool is amazing and pictures in the listing are very accurate. Would give more than 5 stars if I could!

Beautiful Home, Wonderful Host
My family had a wonderful vacation visiting with family. It was so peaceful and relaxing and the view from the deck and pool were so beautiful that nobody wanted to leave the house! Doug was a wonderful host and communication was quick and easy from the very beginning. We never had any problems with the property. Everything we could possibly have needed was right there. Also we loved that everything was labeled like the lights and drawers so we found everything we needed very easily. They thought of absolutely everything! The games and game room were wonderful for our one rainy day there. We would love to return to this home for future vacations.
