Antigonish Evergreen Inn

"I have stayed at numerous places over the years, from luxury hotels in Vegas to seedy rooms above a bar, and the Evergreen is honestly the first motel where I felt like I was coming home. It may have a few years on it, but our room was absolutely clean, homey, and welcoming. The TV was on and playing restful music when we entered, there are real (and healthy!) plants around the room, and thoughtful touches everywhere - including a long shoe-horn and an emergency umbrella! The flat screen TV was big enough to watch without dominating the room, which might be a significant part of the charm. There was a fridge, full size stove and oven, dishes and pots and pans, and enough basic utensils to prep a simple meal if you wish... and Mother Webb's is not far away if you don't. The bed had an older mattress, but it was obviously high quality, still comfy, and the area is quiet and dark, so we slept very well. Each room has its own mini-split heat pump, so we stayed cool without the racket of the old-school through-the-wall air conditioning units still found in most older motels. Checking in was the fastest I have experienced anywhere. They had a package ready with my key and an info sheet, they told me about breakfast and laundry facilities, and we were done - elapsed time maybe three minutes, although none of it felt less than welcoming. Breakfast... well, if you are looking for bacon and eggs or waffles, this is the wrong place. But those scones that they brag about are on point,"

"The property was fine. Older but adequate. I wasn't happy with Expedia, as the person on staff said that my credit card info was out of date, and she almost gave it to another customer. It was the last room in the motel, so we would have been out of luck! I tried to update my credit card info earlier that day, and thought that it had gone through, but it hadn't. I got no message from Expedia that something was wrong, went there expecting our room to be all ready after a long day's drive, only to find out that we had almost missed out.. Not happy with Expedia!"

"OCEANFRONT RELAXED LUXURY HOME Such a beautiful and thoughtfully curated vacation home. The hosts have thought of everything to ensure guests are comfortable. We made use of the lobster pots and had a feast to remember. Spent time everyday walking the beach and making to most of time with family. Thanks so much for opening your beautiful home to our family. We made many wonderful lasting memories. The MacG Family"

Charming Lakeside Cottage Retreat | Steps to the Water | Peaceful & Private

"We found that they thought of everything you might need from dog poop bags to bug spray. We always bring all the supplies we need but forgot bug spray. We were going to run out for some but then saw a can inside the cottage. There were supplies for tea and coffee which you don't often see. We had our own but just seeing all the extras you never expected was nice. There were even some books, games and fishing supplies if you wanted to do any of that. Well thought out for what people staying there might need."

"The area was so nice and quiet.the host was so friendly and sincere, I’ve been to domes before and I found this one to be the cleanest of all with everything you need right there , we felt that if we did need something extra that our wishes would be fulfilled overall a great place and a great stay "
