About this property
The Oaks Cabin- Lake view
Welcome to The Oaks Cabin — your dreamy lakefront hideaway with all the cozy log cabin vibes! This place has beautiful wood paneling, a big deck with killer views of the lake, and plenty of comfy patio seating to kick back with your morning coffee or evening drink. There's even a propane grill out there, so get ready for some seriously good cookouts.
Inside, the open floor plan makes it perfect for families or groups to hang out and relax together. The kitchen’s fully stocked and ready to roll, complete with a shiny new gas range right on the island — cooking here is actually fun. The living room is super inviting, with a wood-burning fireplace, a smart TV, and a giant sectional perfect for movie nights or midday naps.
Bedroom one is a total retreat, with a King bed, another smart TV, and a bonus Twin bed with a pull-out Twin trundle — great for kiddos or extra guests. The ensuite bathroom is spa-like, with a double vanity, a walk-in shower, and a jetted tub made for soaking all your worries away. Bedroom two (right next door) has a cozy Queen bed, and bedroom three comes with another King bed for max comfort. The second bathroom has a tub/shower combo for whatever mood you're in.
Bonus charm points: gorgeous log beams across the living room ceiling and cute stained-glass touches in both bathrooms. The Oaks Cabin is the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort — all right on the lake!
Before You Book… Just a Few Things to Know About Lazy Oaks Resort-
We like to keep it real around here, so we’ve put together a few friendly disclaimers to help set expectations. Lazy Oaks Resort is a special place — rustic, beautiful, and full of character — but it’s not for everyone.
Yes, it’s beautiful here. Yes, it’s peaceful. But let’s be honest — when you stay this close to the lake and woods, you're signing up for a front-row seat to the wild side of the White Mountains. That includes bugs (despite our constant spraying), bats (they eat the bugs, so technically they’re staff), mice (adorable freeloaders), geese (loud and entitled), badgers (surprisingly bold), and yes... occasionally, bears (they were here first).
Now, don’t panic — actual wildlife encounters are rare. Most critters keep to themselves, especially if you don’t leave snacks out like it’s a buffet for the forest. But still — if the idea of a spider ruins your weekend, this might not be your dream getaway.
Pet owners, listen up: we love animals — yours, ours, and the wild ones that roam the area. But please keep your furry friends leashed and in your sight at all times. This is real nature, not a fenced-in dog park. Wildlife doesn't care how sweet your pup is, and we'd like to avoid any awkward encounters that end in vet visits or dramatic stories.
About the internet... Yes, we have Wi-Fi, and yes, it usually works pretty well — we’re talking about 90%-95% success, which earns a gold star up here in the mountains. But it’s not perfect. Our Smart TVs run on that same connection, so they may occasionally get “dumber” than advertised.
More importantly — you didn’t come all this way to watch reruns of your favorite show. You came for fresh air, starry skies, and that glorious lake just outside your door. We’ve got free kayaks, pedal boats, fishing, hiking trails, and enough sunshine to completely reset your mood. So shut the laptop, drop the remote, and go make a real memory — the kind that doesn’t need Wi-Fi.
A few more things to know… Lazy Oaks is home to 18 rustic cabins tucked into about 4 acres of private lakefront property. Yes, you’ll have neighbors. Yes, you’ll share grills and boats. And yes — that’s part of the charm. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself around a campfire, swapping stories, sharing snacks, and making new friends with people you never expected to meet. It’s a social kind of place — in the best way possible.
And those cabins? Many date back to the 1930s–1950s. They’re clean, cozy, and full of charm you just can’t fake — the kind that creaks a little and tells stories in its sleep. We’re gently updating them over time, keeping the best of the old while making space for the comforts of the new. If you appreciate character with your comfort, you’re going to love it here.
If you're looking for ultra-modern, sterile, and silent... well, we hear Scottsdale’s nice. But if you’re ready for a lakeside escape with soul — we’ve got a cabin waiting for you.
The bottom line? 100% of guests who arrive with the right expectations have a wonderful time — and hundreds return year after year. Lazy Oaks isn’t just a place to stay. It’s a place to slow down, reconnect, and soak in something real. We just want you to know what we’re all about — and if that sounds like your kind of getaway, we can’t wait to host you.
Just a heads-up: We do ask all guests to sign a short rental agreement before arrival. We didn’t want to go all “legal,” but our lawyers insisted — especially since we’re right on the lake, welcome pets, and offer free use of boats. Thanks for understanding!

Needed to escape the heat. Found this cabin and 2 couples spent weekend relaxing. Lots of space great views. Close to town if something is needed. Kitchen was not really stocked with much, limited cooking and eating utensils. Could clean some of cob webs off patio railing. Other than that nice place will return just with a few extra Kitchen items.

Not the worst we have seen, but close
Linens and beds were clean and fresh, however the cupboards were bare of alll but a few items, 1 single wine glass, no bottle opener and items of crockery. We lit a fire in the grate and the room filled with smoke to the point where our eyes were sore no cleaning supplies other than a mop with no bucket and a brush/pan, with a threat of extra charges if the house is left unclean. Owner unresponsive. We also found evidence of mice getting into our food.

I was prepared for an older cabin. Heater didn’t work in bedroom the first night. Propane grills were rusted out and dishwasher didn’t work. Cabinets very old and dirty. And I’m used to having at least salt and pepper offered.
There was bugs everywhere spider webs mold in the bathroom electric outlets sticking out black widows and spider eggs covered the patio and the patio furniture. Looked like no one used the cabin in a months maybe longer stayed one night instead of the two we booked and didn’t get a penny. Will never use this service again
