Special $ Now - Awesome Lake Views - Single Floor - Shasta Lakeshore Retreat #5
SHASTA LAKESHORE RETREAT #5. This home is one of the 19 fine lake homes part of the Shasta Lakeshore Retreat collection supporting up to 235 guests.
Warm, clean retreat with different themes in each room. Great views of the lake and mountains. This home was remodeled in 2022 in the main area (living room & kitchen). Lots of windows, high ceiling, open and beautiful wood flooring. Three large sliders open up the area to the wonderful outdoors and large covered deck. This deck is fully covered which is great year around to get out of the hot sun in the summer and enjoy outside a winter or spring rain shower sitting next to the heat lamp and gas fire pit.
The home is all on one floor which is nice for those that do not want to use the stairs. Access into the home is easy.
Each of the three bedrooms have a specific theme. Two full baths and laundry room just across the hall.
Unlike most vacation rentals, this home has two large refrigerators for those guests staying the week or have large groups.
The home has great views. It is just set back a little with a trail down to the water for your use.
If you have a larger party, Retreat 1 and Retreat 2 are directly next door. Those three homes will support up to 34 guests. Retreat 3 and 4 are also a few houses down on the same street.
All our homes have central air conditioning and heating.
- Truck/Boat/Car/ATV Parking on good sized level driveway. No Rv'S or Campers.
- Sugarloaf Boat County Boat Ramp is close by. The marina location and moorage availability is dependent on lake level. This house is the closest to the marina of all our homes.
- Shoreline anchor also available. Use caution.
- Majority of boaters choose Shasta as their favorite Lake in California! Warm water during summer, many fingers to ski/board with calm water, massive dam, fishing everywhere, and multiple marinas to fuel the boat. Over 365 miles of shoreline to explore. Most shoreline in California.
- Plenty of relaxing time to view wildlife from the deck while you have a cup of coffee in the morning or favorite drinks in the evening.
- Multiple forest service country roads for ATV's and hiking to explore close by. Bring your ATVs!
- ADDITIONAL PHOTOS (over 1000) and multiple videos can be found on our website plus lots of information about the area, marinas, boat ramps, lake level, places to eat, things to do and so much more.

*IMPORTANT: Check Lake Level on our website for info and photos or Contact us for the latest updates. Summer 2021 and 2022 Lake Levels were lower than years prior. Although most of our guests still have a great time at any water level, we want to make sure you understand the dynamics of this reservoir. The lake may or may not fill up any given year but we will keep guests updated and offer a full refund up to 60 days before arrival if any guest has concerns on water level. If the lake drops below 140' down, this starts to impact the availability of the local boat ramp and marina requiring travel to another part of the lake. Again, see our website for the latest info and photos of lake at different levels. Forest Fires are also common in Northern California which may blow smoke in the area during the summer and fall. Guest with health concerns or worry about air quality should avoid visiting Northern California during the peak summer seasons. Check our website for current conditions and weather alerts.

The BEST!
We absolutely loved this house and location! It was my birthday and we had people coming in and out most of the weekend. The views on the balcony in the morning while enjoying coffee were my favorite! The walk to the lake was easy and access to our boats even easier. It was quiet at night and peaceful. We are locals and live in the Redding/Palo Cedro areas. It was the perfect staycation and can’t wait to do it again!
The property was clean and comfortable. There was a gorgeous view off of the deck and we spent some time just relaxing in the comfortable chairs provided out there. The neighborhood was quiet. We saw deer every evening when we returned to the house.
The host was excellent! On the first day, they checked in to make sure that ever was good and they were helpful with questions/easy to reach and quick to respond.

Fabulous time at 5
We just got back and had a wonderful time relaxing at Retreat 5 this weekend. The layout of the house was great for multiple couples. The deck is where my girlfriend and I spent most of the time while the guys were out fishing. The cameras all over the deck took a bit to get use to. They are mentioned in the booklet and they are obvious, just took some getting use to.
Lori was quite easy to rent from. She was always a text away, any questions we had she would answer, before booking, during, and after. Thank you Lori! We had a great stay and would absolutely stay again.

Lovely Shasta Vacation!
We. plan a yearly vacation for our family of 9. Every year try to go to a different location for new experiences. Have to say Shasta has been one of the best. My 4 grandsons loved being on the lake, playing in the water, tubing, trying to wakeboard, etc. something for everyone. We all had a wonderful time and will be returning. Retreat #5 was a good choice for us. Enough beds, well stocked with kitchen utensils for cooking our meals. great BBQ and grill. The kids played hide and seek every day and had a great time being together. Would highly recommend renting this vacation get-away for a wonderful family vacation.
Good communication between the owners and myself. Questions were answered quickly as needed. We had to have easy access to the lake for a 3 year old and up to a 74 year old. There were several places close by that we could get to easily and spend the day playing in the lake.

Great family stay at Shasta
We had a nice, relaxing time at retreat #5. A huge covered deck with view of the lake was a favorite spot for morning coffee as well as a relaxing evening hang out spot. We used the provided suggestions for dinner and our boat rental. It was much appreciated.

Beautiful view! Great house!
Perfect 1 level home! We had a wonderful time ! It had a spacious living room and deck area. We had rented multiple homes for our reunion and used this space to have a meal together. It was great.
The house is great for a family of 8 or 10 depending on sleeping arrangements. We spent 90% of the time sitting on the deck. The BBQ is great and makes a great way to cook and serve on the deck. The rooms are very roomy and has the essentials you need. The house is quarky but comfortable and cozy.

Great place and great view
This is our second time back here and we absolutely love the location. The lake was full so the views were stunning. We have been here before even with lower lake levels and it is worth the stay. The house has everything you need and plenty of parking for a boat trailer. The hosts are very friendly and keep you well informed. Looking forward to our next trip back!

Charming and relaxing
This is our second time staying at one of these properties and it wont be our last! This was a 3br 2ba and there was only 4 of us! It was perfect for us. The dining table is a bit small but we didn’t mind as we spent every night on the beautiful deck!
This place was great! The owners thought of many extras that made the stay enjoyable. The extra fridge out on deck, the seating on deck, the black-stone and b que, the ping pong table the corn hole and the bedrooms and house had so many little decor details that just made it perfect Loved the large patio doors that overlooked the lake and pines. We had deer in the am and rabbits and woodpeckers all come greet us in the early morning it was just great!
We had a great time at Lake Shasta. The house was well equipped with everything we needed. The decor was fun and my teenage kids loved the ping pong table and overall vibe of the house. It was a super fast and easy walk to the lake and our boat (we kept it at a slip at Sugarloaf Marina). The owner was great to work with and very responsive. I would highly recommend this lake house.
I've stayed at several properties through VRBO over the past 20+ years and usually have a few gripes I think to myself. But I was pleasantly surprised with Retreat #5. It was a great lakehouse with everything needed and the AC kept churning in 110 degree heat the whole time. The cell service isn't great, but it was good to tune out for a while. And when the lake is full and beautiful it just makes the whole trip. Great job by Lori and Dave with this property and all those neat little marketing touches they apply. Highly recommend.
The home is located perfectly for a family fun vacation on Lake Shasta. Close to boat launch, store, gas, restaurants and most of all the lake. The neighborhood is a cute little community that takes pride in their homes. The house was perfect for the 6 of us and we decided there was plenty of room for more. The house was clean with plenty of seating and comfy beds. The deck is large and overlooks the lake, it was our favorite spot to hang out. The kitchen is situated nicely so you can be cooking and still feel like your with the group. The host was easy to contact and was very friendly. We will definitely book this beautiful home in the future.

Great beginning to the Summer!
With Lake Shasta full, my family decided to finally explore this area of California instead of going to Tahoe. The Daisy Lane cul de sac had the only lakefront rentable properties anywhere on Shasta, so I booked Retreat 5, which was the only one available for the third week in June. Having only seen Shasta while driving by on Highway 5, none of us expected just how rocky the shore is. I had expected a week of swimming just offshore from our "Lake House". Even with the lake full, the shore does not resemble a "beach" in any way. The approach at the end of Daisy Lane is steep and rocky and there's nowhere to really set up for sitting by the lake. We went down the trail behind the house to the inlet to see the "raft" that is set up there. One of our kids (who is 6'4) joked it was just the right size for one girl trying to survive Titanic disaster. We walked down the other side of the inlet by Sugarloaf Marina but were chased away by a security guard from the Sugarloaf Cottages. It's critical you understand this is not an easy place to go for an afternoon swim. A kayak or paddleboard would have been great and some of the houses have them, but not Retreat 5.
Fortunately, I had reserved a ski boat for Sunday, at Antler's Marina farther north, so we could go tubing with our 4 twenty-something year old kids. That turned out to be a great decision! We started out tubing in the morning and then explored the whole west side of the lake and stopped for Father's Day brunch at Huff's at Bridge Bay. We moored at Bailey's Cove afterward, which was a perfect place for swimming and lounging. On the way back we did more tubing. We scouted out some places that would be easier to swim, also.
The house is comfortable, had plenty of room for 6 people and a small dog. Our dog enjoyed sitting on the deck scouting squirrels in the pine trees. Weather was perfect, so we ate mostly outside. The dining table is definitely not set up for eating for 6 people. It's a narrow plank of wood. Even when working, our kids had to sit diagonally to each other to have room for their computers. Kitchen was well equipped, great to have 2 refrigerators and lots of ice. Beds were comfortable and everything worked. Also, could use more comfy furniture on the deck. The two lounge chairs are super saggy, so you can't sit comfortably and read.
Because swimming wasn't an easy option, we ended up exploring other lakes - Siskyou, which is gorgeous but colder, Whiskeytown, which is also better set up for swimming but has parasites that give you swimmer's itch currently. We went to the Caverns, (worth it, but don't do the 2 hour boat ride) McCloud Falls, also gorgeous, and all the way out to Weaverville to check out the historic town and see the Trinity Alps.
It was not the vacation I had planned but ended up being enough fun to make me book Retreat #3 for next year. Being closer to the water with paddleboards and a kayak will probably give me easier access to being in the water and more of a "Lake vacation". Definitely getting a boat again.
We had an amazing time in Lake Shasta and the house was just awesome. There was plenty of room in the house for all of us and the kids loved playing ping pong. It was only a short drive to our boat each day, which was great. Most importantly, Sherri was a fantastic host. When we had questions, she would respond immediately and she made everything really easy. I am definitely looking forward to returning next summer.
It was great—to no fault of the hosts the water is super low so our lakefront rental was more of a in the mountains rental. But we were able to rent a slip nearby for the week so we made the best of it. Love the way the house was decorated. The two fridges were a definite plus. My advice is to go shopping before you get there. Had to go to Redding which is about a half an hour away.
This was an excellent location just minutes from the lake. It was perfect for our family 5 adults and 3 kids. Ample amount of space. We really enjoyed having the lake so close but also being able to cool off indoors. It was perfect for kids as well - 1 year old could safely toddle around and the older kids enjoyed cornhole and ping pong. Sherri was incredibly communicative from booking to our stay. Highly recommend!
