Good location, janky property

My buddies and I decided to stay here for spring break, the location itself is prime and there’s plenty of places in walking distance. The property itself was very run down, had a ton of rust everywhere, the inside was severely outdated. The washer and dryer are not inside the house, but outside under a piece of sheet metal and stairs, super rusty, the dryer looks like it’s from 1980. Halfway through our stay the hot water stopped working and I contacted the host and the host tried telling me we did something wrong, was not polite at all about a logical human response. Anytime we turned on the microwave or washer, or sink, the lights would flicker. One of the beds was not an actual bed but just a memory foam pad. The inside smelled bad and there were areas that were dirty. Super dissapointed, but the location was great.

Good but a few issues

The property was a tad outdated. We arrived after 9 p.m. The email with the code for entry was never received and we had to wait a bit for the owner to reply due to the late arrival time. Only 1 bathroom and it is very small which was fine for us but could pose an issue for larger groups. Our sheets and pillow cases smelled like mildew, like the cleaning people left them in the washer for a day before drying. I checked the laundry on the porch and those sheets smelled bad too. So sleeping was a little gross. The owner also gave us the name of a friend who had a golf cart. Cost was reasonable and he doesn't charge for the day of check in or check out. Gold cart was extremely unkept, old and worse for wear. We got up and took the golf cart for spin, within 30 minutes the cart was almost dead, we almost didn't make it back to the house. Put it back on the charger and it never fully charged. Refused to refund any of our money despite not getting to use it. So my advise is pay the extra money and rent a golf cart from someone who takes care of their golf carts. Overall not a horrible stay, but could've been better. Host was very cordial and easy to deal with.

Great house near the beach!

This home was perfect for our Spring Break getaway. The property was clean, cozy, great decor and very nice! We loved the option of renting the golf cart. The manager / owner responded very quickly to any communications during our stay. We will come back to this property again!

This house was perfect. The layout was very open and the balcony amazing. The balconies have gates to block access to stairs which are perfect for keeping grandchildren in. Communication was great between owners and ourselves. The neighborhood is wonderful. Close to entrance for the beach. Great views!

Location was the only positive.

When we arrived we were excited about location. You couldn't run ac or the lights flicker or not come on at all. Microwave didn't work at all. Contact host, sent an electrician over he stated that he had been over 3 times recently and needed to put a smaller ac in and would return the next day, but didn't. We left a day early. Overall not worth the money.

It is a cute property. It needs a lot of work on the flooring though. There are areas that are sunken in big time that made me a little nervous. The kitchen dishes and utensils, cookware needed to be rewashed before we could use them as there was food on them. Additional cooking pots and pans would have been nice. been nice.

Was told if we got the fourth day we got the golf cart. When I asked about it he told me it was last month. But it clearly said it came with it. They offered an 20% discount which only cost is a extra $500 dollars. Felt very mislead.

Worst birthday experience ever

I showed up with my family which is who I booked for, I did have family meet me at the beach . No one was ever in the house or was intending on staying. When we returned from the beach the property manager was there and said I did not book for 30 ppl, only booked for 2 . Which was fine , I offered to pay him he told me to check out and I would get refunded. I could not contact him and was also waiting for 30 minutes before I could check in due to poor communication. I can not respect the fact that majority of those ppl were children ranging from 1-15 ! This was not acceptable and I do not recommend booking with him!

Awesome last minute getaway

Location is awesome. Having the golf cart made it even more awesome. It’s located right at access point 1 for surf side beach. Water pressure isnT great but the house is well furnished and stocked. Overall highly recommend. It was a last minute getaway for me and my kids. Loved it

absolutely perfect!

this rental was my first one and honestly it was amazing ! the upstairs balcony had to be my favorite part of the whole house. the inside was decorated adorably as well as the outside. the swing downstairs was relaxing and watching the stars at night on the balcony made everything feel better. the beach is my safe space and this rental made it all worth while!

Bait & switch plus more issues

This was my first experience using VRBO, and unfortunately, my last. The property looked good on the app, so we booked the property. After booking the property, we also inquired about the use of the golf cart. With our stay being less than 4 days, the golf cart was extra, to the tune of $150. Paying extra for the golf cart was no issue, it beats walking to the beach. The weekend we stayed, it rained the majority of the weekend, you can't control the weather. Upon arriving at the property, we were met with disappointment. The property looks nothing like the pictures on the app perceive it to be. The tv in the living room worked with no issues. The TVs in the bedrooms only worked while hooked up to a dvd player, or xbox. The remote in the bunk bed room didn't work on the tv, you would have to find the button on the side of the tv, and even then, it was not working. I text the host about it, and other things, and only replied back on issues that we solved ourselves, hours later. We bought groceries to cook, using the oven. The oven did not fully cook items. It did not preheat, and we had to resort to using the stovetop to cook our items. Total disappointment!! During the day, we found a shard of glass on the living room floor, thankfully nobody stepped on it. The golf cart was a separate issue in all of itself. Initially it worked ok, but at one point, you could smell burning, like an angle grinder on metal, then we saw smoke. As soon as that happened, we drove it back to the property and hooked it up to charge. Later that evening, we took it out again to the beach, and it died on the beach, and we had to tow it back to the property. HOW EMBARRASSING!! One of the hooks in the bathroom that holds towels, is ready to come out the wall. The right legs on the couch closer to the tv, are broken, so it doesn't sit level. One of the wooden chairs, the wood is coming off of it, and a piece was sticking out, if somebody were to run into it, it would be a full-on stabbing. The comforter on the main bed, had marker stains. Right before we left, our 6 yo was on the back swing and it being rusted, the back corner dropped and he nearly fell off. THAT could have been bad, had he fallen on his head!!! One thing that creeped us out, is somebody staying in the travel trailer behind the house. When we arrived, the neighbors were staring us down, as if we were casing the place to rob it later. Overall, it was a POOR experience for the money
