"Much of the property and hotel have been remodeled. Although clean, the rooms have been ignored since the mid 70' probably. They need updating. I've never encountered a hairdryer fixed to the wall with 2 feet of fat corrogated tubing. We asked cleaning staff for extra towels on our second day, which we received. We needed an additional one later in the day. When I asked the same cleaning for one, they began arguing with each other and then told me " go to your room". Our towels were wet and used. Out of spite apparently, they neglected to clean our room the next day and told management we had a do not disturb sign on our door all day, which wasnt true. We used wet towels again the text day. Management argued with us when we mentioned this towel situation. They were not friendly at this hotel. They treated us disrespectfully. Over a towel??"

"Absolutely wonderful! The breakfast staff that worked from 5/18-5/21 were fantastic. They were so welcoming and relaxing. Definitely 5 star plus. We stayed in a suite with the rooftop. Loved the room. House keeping kept our room tidy and stocked with water. When I was leaving someone from the front desk handed me a box of chocolates for my birthday as a gift. I never mentioned it was my birthday to anyone during my stay. Just a lovely stay all around. Can’t wait to visit again next year. "

"This is an older resort that has been well cared for and updated. It is only a few steps from a beautiful beach. Be aware that you need to establish a line of credit with the front desk if you want to charge things to your room. "

"Pestana Palm Gardens was a wonderful apartment/ resort! Great location, complete apartment facilities, pool and fitness room was very good, But most of all, the staff were outstanding! Friendly, fast, perfect service. "

"Roads near by are small and the restaurant is too expensive. However. The rooms, staff, pool and included breakfast are 10/10 a must stay. Eat dinner and lunch elsewhere and plan your route into town."

"Enjoyed our stay. The property is old and traditional. The grounds are well kept. The staff were exceptionally courteous. We ate twice at the restaurant and the food was excellent. It is a 25 minute walk to the beach and a 8 euro cab back after having a few beverages. Feragudo and Portimao are close by and the grocery store is about a 10 minute walk. If you have transportation you will find it a very nice area without the hustle and bustle of the beach area. Not a new and splashy resort but an excellent choice regardless. Thoroughly recommend!"
