"Our visit to Brier Island Lodge began with a very warm welcome by 2 staff members. They checked us in quickly, told us about the on site restaurant and directed us to helpful reading about the area ( including whale watching). The rooms are rustic with limited amenities and only certain days of housekeeping
Views from our personal patio were just great morning, afternoon or night!
We ate most meals in the restaurant Haddock in many forms plus a great burger and delicious hot breakfasts. Pricing felt a little high but when on the island we were grateful to have meals close at hand as we began or ended our day according to the ferry schedule
We would return to the Inn and might spring for the upgraded building to celebrate a special occasion!
Whale Watching in a Zodiac or larger craft was simply AWESOME. We took an 80 year old dear friend and she was able to check this long desired wish off of her bucket list. Dress in layers and with a jacket. Even when it is warm on land it is really cold on the open water!
A scenic, friendly place to stay! Brier Island Lodge does Brier Island proud!
Well done, Nova Scotia!!!"
"Tout ce dont nous avions besoin était disponible dans le cottage
À noter que Lepetit chalet n’est pas situé sur la plage mais à quelques minutes de la belle plage de Mavillette"
Oceanfront mini home, two decks, with spectacular views.
10/10 Excellent
"The views are amazing! Especially from the hot tub. We saw the sunset over the ocean, the ambiance was perfect for a couple on vacation. Beds were comfy, the tiny house has everything you need. Glad we picked this place to stay."
"Having a whole trailer was like having an executive suite. I really enjoyed the fireplace. I didn’t make it down to the river because I twisted my knee but it looks really pretty. When I accidentally overpowered the electrical he came and reset it and explained about it. The unit has a cosy bedroom and the two sofas in the living room made into beds. Parking was great. Directions were clear and concise.
I recommend this."
Bright, spacious Acadian Home with country views and in reach of Acadian Shores!
10/10 Excellent
"This house is beautiful, spacious, homey and very clean. The host is amazing, always available for questions, and so accommodating. We spent over 2 weeks there and enjoyed family visits in the cost living room."
"Sweet, quiet and clean. This spot is so peaceful with lovely little touches to make it feel special. Exactly what two tired teachers needed before we start June. We hope to return."
"Beautiful spot and great value. The hosts are attentive and quick to respond. Beautiful view and would definitely recommend this spot. Quiet and serene."
The Cove House- completely renovated 1910 beach house
10/10 Excellent
"Had high expectations going in and all of them were exceeded. The house itself accommodated 4 families very comfortably and every little detail was meticulously thought through - host Madison & Jody have clearly put their heart & soul into this place which honours the local Acadian traditions. The property overlooks the ocean which allowed us to take our time and walk on it at low tide. It is located in a quiet community but close to spectacular scenery and beaches such as Smugglers Cove and Mavilette beach where the kids swam and became master beachcombers finding large never before seen sea shells. This place provided the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of more popular getaways. In truth, we thought the Brier Island Lighthouse easily rivalled that of Peggy’s Cove - and we had it all to ourselves. The place feels like it’s off the beaten path yet still very accessible as it is only 25 min drive from Digby ferry. We all highly recommend this place. Any one looking to catch up with family & friends away from the blare of conventional tourist swells, where the only distraction is a stunning sunset and tidal movements that leave you awestruck, cannot go wrong with the Cove House. Fully satisfied."
