Maria’s place was a beautiful spot in the hills. It was very clean and equipped enough for our 3 night stay. Maria was friendly and helpful. You do need to walk up either quite a few steps or walk the winding streets uphill to get from town about a 10 min walk. It is doable and we did it every day. If you have luggage however I would get a taxi which costs around 10 Euros. There are plenty of restaurants and things to see in La Spezia but we used it as a home base to visit Cinque Terra. The apartment is about 10 mins from the train station by walking. We were able to do this with luggage at the end of our visit as it is all down hill. I would highly recommend Maria’s place and would happily stay here again.
