"When we arrived at 5.00pm on Sunday afternoon the hotel was deserted. Automatic check-in machine! If someone had been at reception we would have asked to change our room,particularly as the place appeared practically empty, because our shower head bracket was broken so had to be hand held for the entire stay. Also being sited on the 2nd floor was difficult for us as we are both over 70 and have both had hip surgery. We enjoyed our continental breakfast each day and our swim in the nice private...

"The car park was horrendous, Curtain at the window was difficult to use as the rail was broken so had to use the shutter for privacy but even that was hard to use, the bed was comfortable and clean"

"Beautiful building and very helpful reception staff, spa was a little tired with a broken steam room and very tired shower area but

a good size and pleasantly warm ! Grounds need a little TLC but could be absolutely stunning. Only down side was that it was a 10 minute taxi ride into La Rochelle and both taxi's and Ubers were hard to come by due to the Boat Show !"
