Welcome to Finn McCool, a peaceful lakeside hideaway on the “North” end of Madeline Island, just about 20 minutes from the ferry dock in La Pointe.

Named after the historic sunken dredge Finn McCool resting on the lakebed just offshore, this charming cottage is a place to unplug, unwind, and fully embrace the beauty of Lake Superior.

Nice Little Getaway

Wonderful experience. We enjoyed being so close to the water and having a fire under a blanket of stars at night. The lake was so intensely rough when we arrived. We enjoyed watching as Lady Superior calmed so beautifully thru the course of our stay.

Great Stay

This place was great. We really enjoyed our stay. The one recommendation I would make - is that it would have been nice to have a little more stocked kitchen and bathroom. We stayed 8 days, and there was only one bath towel each, no salt/pepper/ saran wrap or items to hold leftovers. Would have been a nice addition to have a few more basic amenities in the kitchen. Otherwise, we loved our stay.
