Loved staying here for the cultural experience. It is very authentic - it makes you feel as if you have travelled back in time! There is a beautiful little garden and the o-furo is very relaxing. The futons were top quality super comfy too! The land-lady is very lovely and a wonderful host. She made sure we had everything we needed and even helped us with dressing in our kimono which we hired for the day. 100% recommend!
A few things to be aware of: the home is a little out of the way as it is in a quiet neighbourhood. There is however a train station and bus stop in walking distance. You can also use the bicycles in the residence. Secondly, sound travels easily as the walls are thin, and you need to keep quiet for the neighbouring homes.
Staying here was definitely a highlight of my trip - must do experience if you want to immerse yourself in Japanese culture
Staying in this traditional Japanese house was an extremely memorable part of our holiday experience. The traditional nature of this house was relaxing and beautiful.
