We had a great time staying here, it was in the perfect location for exploring Kyoto. The area is very quiet and is a nice place to relax after doing lots of walking during the day.

It was a nice place to stay away from the busy city life. Unfortunately there was construction going on and it was very inconvienent to pass by the site, especially with a stroller. The place was not really toddler friendly but will work for older children. Could be a bit cleaner. Overall the host was very polite and nice and welcomed us with a tea ceremony. Thank you!

What an incredible place to stay! This is the perfect home base for all your eastern Kyoto adventures. Being just a quick two minute walk to the KH train line makes accessing Fushimi Inari, Kiyomizudera, and Gion super convenient, while at the same time avoiding all the crowds that come with staying at those locations. The property owner was also incredibly helpful! The property itself is amazing. Unlike anywhere I've ever stayed before. The master bedroom has its own rock features! The outdoor soaking tub was the perfect way to relax after a long day on your feet. It is accessed straight from the shower, so its perfect to jump into for a soak after you wash off the stress of the day. The upstairs bedroom was also perfect for my teenager, who appreciated having space for himself. Could not be any happier with the property. Will definitely stay here whenever we return to Kyoto.

While the property was very unique and large, it was quite dirty. There was dust on everything, used Bobby pins on several countertops, and hair on top of all the rocks by the bed.

Amazing Japanese cottage

Amazing Japanese cottage which was really well furnished and the hot bath was really good! The complementary mini bar was a nice surpise. A must for anyone wanting a traditional Japanese stay. The Breakfast was also a great experience. A couple of suggestions for improvements; - Moscetos were around the outside bath and a few went inside so a couple of mosceto plugs would be good. - The building did creak alot at night and woke me up a few times - We couldnt get any hot water at the bathroom taps or kitchen taps

The house is really hard to find, but inside of the house is amazing! Newly renovated, outdoor bath, complimentary wine...... It is an ideal place to experience Kyoto.
