Perfect getaway.
Stayed in the 1 bedroom villa. Perfect for a couple with 2 kids. All amenities included. Lovely getaway for a weekend . Kids enjoyed the activities. Was too cold to use the beach club. Would return in Summer for those activities.

We booked a room with patio. The room we were given was 48B which is in a cottage with 2 other room. The walls are paper thin which means we can hear everything from the other room. Unfortunately our next door neighbor had two small children and even tho they tried their best to keep the noise level low we could still hear everything. It was suppose to be a romantic getaway but we ended up having to walk on eggshells. We felt that the wide angle picture also made the rooms look bigger than they were. The room we stayed at was smaller than most other hotels while the bathroom was pretty big. The room we were given also had no aircon and it was 1degree that night with only a small portable heater fan. From the picture we assumed we would have a view of the lake but our room was blocked by 2 cottages in front. That said, the location of the resort was good and there were many activities but unfortunately for us it rained so there was not much to do in the resort.

Amazing Stay but ensure you check out at 10am.
We had 2 chalets booked and really enjoyed ourselves. The chalets are large, well laid out and very comfortable. the property as well has lots to do for the family and very clean. The only thing I was upset about was when we went to check out around 10.50am, we were told that we needed to pay R150 per chalet for the late check out. I told the lady at the reception that this was the first I heard of it and this was not mentioned to us when we checked in, on the website or in the envelope which was given to us. Usually all the resports I go to, in the envelope which is accompanied with the keys, there is a letter with information such as special activities, special dinners or other important relevant information. All the lady said was on the confirmation it stated there that check out is at 10.00am. I fully agree we were in the wrong and would have paid this had it been mentioned to us. I have stayed at many resorts and hotels worldwide and not once was I asked to pay additional funds for checking out less than an hour after cut off.

Excellent well maintained and clean accommodation. Spectacular location with beautiful views. Great activities on site. Would recommend a trip there. Reception a little short on courtesy and friendliness. Coffee shop closes a bit early at 5pm. Poorly communicated activity times as the beach club turned us away at 4pm and made a few sarcastic comments when we returned at 3:15 pm for any hire activities on the dam. But the official closing time is 5pm. WiFi blocks video streaming so if your work needs YouTube or Khan academy or if you just want to enjoy Netflix it won't work. Apparently they were upgrading so we had intermittent connectivity

Family Getaway
Great Holiday, good facilities and modern furnishings. Note they have gas cylinders which are utilised for the stove and to heat the water for the units. Ours cylinder finished at night and only the next day was it changed as the reception closes at 17h00. Other than that it was a nice hilifay. The Jacuzzi was great.

Cayley manor house
The manor house was beautiful and exactly like the pictures. Service was a little disappointing as we could not check in at the time listed and had to wait an hour extra as they had not cleaned the unit in time. Also they had shut off all the power to the geysers and not turned them back on so the first night we had no hot water. Jacuzzi was not turned on so could not make use of it.

Communication was poor! Hotel staff didn’t know the simple answers to questions when asked. Also, wrong info given for the choir and very Irritated when we arrived, only to find out that they were having a braai on our first night. You would think that we would have been informed to bring our own meat. All the stores were closed.

Shocking check-in
I made my booking and payment for our stay at Cayley lodge through Hotels.com only to be told when checking in that I needed to make payment! The other person at reception decided not to speak to me but rather to my wife, explaining that Xperia (?) only makes payment at month end and that's why I need to pay immediately...adding that if I did pay they would refund me later! Luckily I had printed the proof of payment, and thus refused to make another payment. I would like to know why Cayley lodge makes use of this platform if it is not comfortable with the payment method and structure??? I was SO insulted and frustrated at the manner I was welcomed to this resort I am totally put off and has left me quite negative towards the staff and establishment. Perhaps training of front line staff is necessary?

We booked into Cayley Mountain Resort from Friday to Monday, the 20th of November. To our surprise our Unit did not have electricity from Saturday, the 18th as of 20h00 until Sunday, the 19th at 13h30. Unfortunately, we had to cancel our plans and the activities' bookings that we had made for Sunday as we could not wash or bath. We could not even have our evening meals on Saturday and for the most part of Sunday. When we contacted the Resort we were told that there was nothing they could do to compensate us as the power failure was due to the failure of one of their transformers. We were specifically told to take this matter up with Hotels.com since we have booked through them. It was quite a very bad experience for us considering that we had deal with a 6 months baby, could not sterilize his milk bottles never mind preparing his meals. It was a torturous 17.5 hours which I did not pay for. We had to forgo of our activities bookings and plans. I really feel being robbed and denied an opportunity of having a good weekend with my family. I will await for your response on this matter. Very disgruntled member.

Little Paradise in the Mountains
So clean, you could eat off the floors! Continued excellent maintenance, one would think that you were the first to be accommodated in the rooms. Bathroom sparkling clean. Bed linen very clean. Potholes leading to the Lodge in desperate need of repair!

Stunning views and comfortable rooms
I would recommend this hotel to others. The views are absolutely stunning, especially if you wake up early to watch the sunrise over the mountains. Also, rooms were quite comfortable and there are various activities on the property (i.e. putt putt golf, a swimming pool, a trampoline). My only suggestions: wifi should accessible in the rooms; the food could be improved. Neither dinner nor breakfast was particularly good. Still, our stay was lovely. If you are family or couple, just go for it. You won't be disappointed! Great value for your money and views you'll never forget.

Beautiful Resort
We booked a family getaway weekend at Cayley Resort. We received Phenomenal service from checking to checking out. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I love the interior decoration, It was stunning and very upmarket. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I will definitely recommend this Resort.

When we arrived there was no toilet paer or soap in the room. Be aware that this is a family friendly establishment. Families with kids were quite loud and the walls are paper thin. We could hear everything that was going on next door.

Beautiful views of Drakensberg
The room was beautifully appointed. Exclusive upgrades in the bathroom including two sinks and large bathtub. For smokers, you cannot smoke on the balcony. Unfortunately that means leaving the lovely room and standing 10 meters away from the building and feeling like a leper.
