  • On 14 April 2016, a massive earthquake (magnitude 6.2) struck Kumamoto prefecture and damaged numerous structures of the Kumamoto Castle complex including the main castle. Routes and pathways were still open and available for visitors. During our visit, efforts for reconstruction of Kumamoto castle were under way as can be seen in the background of this photo. The Uto Yagura turret (foreground), on the other hand, survived the quake and remains intact.

スタッフの方にも、お伝えしました。 部屋が暑くても、窓を開けるしかなかったが、開け方も分からなかった。 部屋を掃除して頂かなくて良かったのでが、ドア外にマグカップ、グラスが、そのまま置いてあった、せめて袋にでも入れて欲しかった。エレベーターが遅い…年に２度程、帰省して熊本のホテル泊まってますが こんなエレベーターが遅いとこ初めてでした。エレベーターの中は混む、タッチしないと行く階には停まらない、ならカードタッチセンサーは両方にあってほしい。 女性風呂の椅子は髪の毛が付きやす椅子ですね。そんな椅子よく使われますね。
