"I’m giving this hotel 2 stars mainly because of the cleanliness and the overall condition of both the hotel and the room, which felt quite run-down and in need of maintenance.
On the positive side, the staff were kind and helpful, and the location is definitely a strong point.
However, considering the price we paid (over €100 per night, almost 500 MYR), I don’t feel it offers good value for money. For that reason, I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless improvements are made."

"I really liked Arwana and would stay here again. It’s literally right on the beach. The water is crystal clear and baby reef sharks swim around happily. Perhentian doesn’t have any roads so the hotel can arrange water taxis. We did the Redang island trip and the snorkelling trip, both arranged by Arwana and they were both excellent.
Don’t go expecting a 5 star experience, but this hotel has a rustic charm, the room was nice and clean and the pool is a good size. It’s peaceful and exudes chilled...

"The best resort on the Island. The room was exactly what you expect on a small island, basic but beautiful if you want to just relax. Food was excellent and so was the service. Highly recommend."

"Mycket vackert och fantastiskt rum. Maten på restaurang var ok men frukosten var ganska enkel och utplockad om man kom sista 30 minuterna. Värt att påpeka att ingen alkohol serveras på hotellets område om det är något du förväntar dig att ha tillgång på din semester. Men trevlig personal, otrolig strand, dykcenter och snorkling tillgängligt. Vill du se små hajar så är det bara att gå runt i vattnet nära jettyn"

"What a luxurious experience from start to finish! We’ll definitely be coming back! The staff cannot do enough to help you.. there are buggies on tap so there is no need to use your legs! Rooms are luxurious with your own Japanese toilet. The pools are pristine overlooking the ocean and ‘Romantic beach’ is paradise (but be prepared for the 260 steps to get there and watch out for Monitor Lizzards!) The breakfasts are plentiful and delicious with a huge variety of options. The only slight criticism is the food and drinks are very expensive."
"We had a wonderful stay in a Family Seaside Room with our 2 teens. Spacious and comfortable, strong AC. Wifi worked, hot shower, comfortable beds, mini fridge. Basic amenities. They gave 4 water bottles and a new roll of toilet paper per day and beach towels were available at the front desk. We enjoyed the chairs on our porch and the amazing view of the other island. The way the island is set up, there are only beach paths which cut through all the hotels so you do get a lot of people walking in front of the room along the path - not the place for you if you want something more private (or pick a room farther in the back without a view). We loved people watching along the jetty and enjoyed the vibe. It was quiet for sleeping times. A quick and easy 5 minute walk to Coral View beach and another couple minutes to PIR beach. Just breathtaking beaches! Clear water, amazing snorkeling right off the beach. Restaurant on site had great food, took credit cards and we loved hanging out there for the evenings but the service was hit or miss. Get there early or wait for a table for a long time. They forgot part of our order on 3 occasions and we had to ask, after a 40 minute wait. Also more expensive than other places as they add 20% tax/gratuity. Overall, we kept our expectations low as the islands aren't very developed or luxurious but we were comfortable, felt safe and left feeling very happy. The Perhentians are incredible and this hotel made for a great home base during our stay."
"The hotel was lovely, great facilities, fantastic staff, especially Priscilla. It was All inclusive and had some of the nicest food around, set in a more tranquil side of the island, but the hotel organised activities and boat trios went all over both islands"
"I feel this place has had some unfair and harsh reviews in the past. I can of course only base my review on our experience with the room we booked, a triple room with AC. Yes it is a bit of a walk from the long beach jetty and there is a bit of a broken up path with a small incline to the reception but from coral beach the hill is steep. We were greeted at reception by a friendly host and a bottle of water. We found our room to be clean and as the pictures stated, we had a fan and air conditioning and the room was quickly cooled after a hot walk. Our room was unfortunately at the top of another hill but can't be helped given the landscape of the property. The bathroom was acceptable the shower could have been slightly better as it didn't have much pressure but was enough to wash. There was no wifi in the room and the mobile reception is minor and patchy at best but this IS a remote island paradise. If you need entertainment in your room you'd be best to download a series or two but generally browsing internet and social media just about worked on mobile data. The property is a short and fairly easy walk from long beach and its restaurants, shops & bars about 5 mins. It's also a 5-10 minute walk from coral beach which is great for watching sunset but the steep hill is short but sweaty. I think the price of this room is more on the expensive side for basic accommodation but the AC is worth the upgrade as the jungle island is hot & humid. All in all we were happy with the stay"

Don’t go expecting a 5 star experience, but this hotel has a rustic charm, the room was nice and clean and the pool is a good size. It’s peaceful and exudes chilled island vibes. In the evening, walk down the beach for different dining options and try the guys to grill the fresh seafood for you. I loved it here. A thoroughly relaxing stay in pristine surroundings."
