Wonderful stay!

We loved our stay at Portal House Apartments! It was the perfect location, so close and walkable to so many sights, shops, restaurants and super easy to catch a tram from there to head to other parts of the city. Our room was very spacious and it was nice to have a little balcony! The staff were all lovely and very helpful throughout our four night stay! Would definitely stay again!

Our stay at Portal House Apartments was very pleasant and superbly located. Easy to walk in the Old City and easy to get to trams to explore. One star docked for such hard beds! Otherwise the included breakfast was lovely and the accommodations charming.

What a wonderful stay we had at portal apartments. Very good location. Accessible. I would like to say that the showers were great but maybe having a wet room would be an upgrade. My mum fell getting into the shower. There is no spa on site as like it states on Expedia but they have people come in for massages reasonable priced too! Lovely little balcony. Breakfast was great those cakes were to die for. Many thanks for a lovely stay. Leanne

The only negative of this hotel was the air conditioning - the system is controlled by the staff and it is shared between rooms. For some reason the staff turn of the air conditioning on our third night and we had to go downstairs at midnight to have them turn it back on.

The apartments are in a great location for both the old town and the Jewish district. Everything is walkable and organised trips pick up within 5 mins walk maximum. The room was spotless, bathroom modern, breakfasts good and the staff were great. On 2 mornings we needed to leave before breakfast started at 7am so they made us breakfast boxes to take with us at no extra cost. I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone visiting Krakow.

A hotel with amazing staff and an extremely helpful owner manager. Beautiful art deco style decor throughout and a lift to all floors as well as stairs, if you would prefer. The reception area is very well kept and the dining area, of to the right, is also. The rooms are delightful, we had good views of the terrace below and could see the main tower in the square from both windows. We had room 8.1 which I believe was a larger bed. Stacks of choice for breakfast, meats & cheeses, cooked eggs & bacon, pastries, cereal, fruit and tea & coffee. We had booked an Auschwitz trip for 0900 Sunday but that got changed to an 0520 pick up, yes, not a typo! The owner/manger, who's name I still can't pronounce, made us a breakfast bag for pick up at 0445, what an absolute star. If that isn't pushing the boundaries I don't know what is. Auschwitz is a very long day, with a very early start, it was a bit too much for me, as I suffer with many ailments. Please be prepared! Buy any mars bars, sweets, drinks and food before you go, as the vending machines at the site are horrifically expensive. It's a 2 minute walk to the main square, where you are spoilt for choice for menus, drinks & desserts. We would happily stay here again and would not bother looking anywhere else.

We liked the location close to the market square.we enjoyed the breakfast.We liked the room and the en-suite. The main problem we had was the air conditioning was not always on and during the night we had to open the windows even though it was 3.30 in the morning we had noise all night long with people shouting in the street .,We spoke to reception to put on the air conditioning all night but this was not done . So the following evening I spoke to the young lady on the reception and she switched it on in a box outside our room .When it’s been so hot you need the windows open but with the noise outside you can’t . Our room was 7.3 on the fourth floor .There are also a bar opposite the apartment and one each end of the road .Out of the five nights we stayed 3 nights Thursday until Sunday we did not sleep.

The Portal House Apartments are so conveniently located in the historic district. Within walking to most places I wished to go. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The only reason for 4, not 5 star rating is that even with an elevator, there were many steps to navigate to get to your room and with heavy luggage, not as easy. My fault, I know for having so much stuff. Breakfast was very nice, Room was comfortable, shower nice and big. Good storage. Clean.

Could be better without lies.

Good location, good condition.. but ... no aircondition, just lies that it will be fixed tomorrow.. we've been there for a week.... tomorrow never ends... for the price - it is not appropriate... Lies are never appropriate!!!! Breakfast also not the best you'll find.. in the bathroom you will find soap... that is all...

The hotel is around the corner from the main square and is very walkable to all sites, the train station, and tram options. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was very accommodating and friendly. The included breakfast was adequate with a small variety of options. My only negative is this, my room faced the front of the hotel and the street and I could not sleep with the window open at night due to the noise. However, when I closed the window, the soundproofing worked great but it was then warm in the room.
