"We loved our stay at the Blue Elephant. The property itself is lovely, with a lovely pool that has a gorgeous view, the rooms are spacious with everything you need. We had a shared plunge pool and loved it. We never saw our neighbours who we shared it with. The staff were also fantastic, with a special shout out Kostas and Emiliano at the pool restaurant and bar area. Penny at reception was also very helpful. Everyone we encountered was friendly and lovely. There were only a few things on the very small con list and that is while the breakfast buffet was lovely, it was exactly the same everyday, no variarion at all and the milk area was kept out in a fairly warmish area - if they'd put the milk in ice that would be great! But honestly, those were small things. The town of Almyrida is lovely, with everything in walking distance. Lots of great restaurants with friendly and lovely employees. Just note that if you have a mobility impairment there is a fairly steep hill from the main drag to the hotel. It would not be an easy walk to get up. We will definitely be back, it's one of the loveliest hotels we've stayed at."

very rural and quiet villa

"the villa is very quiet and rural with spectacular views from upper balconies over Souda bay and sea. the roads are very narrow and hair pin bends but wonderful views all the way. The pool was lovely and very large most welcome in the heat. Paul the owner was very good with communicating with us, every thing thought of. had a fantastic relaxing break, many thanks."

"Beautiful property overlooking the bay. The amenities were great, very comfortable rooms and great pool and outdoor space. This location is a bit of a trek from the road but worthwhile once you get there."

A lovely villa in beautiful Crete

"We enjoyed our stay in the villa very much, it had everything we needed. The place is spacious, clean and well looked after and Louise easy to contact. The garden and separating it bushes give sort of privacy from guests staying in other villas and the pool never was overcrowded. We ate in places recommended by Louise, but our favourite one was tavern near the villa, which serves authentic and hearty Greek dishes. Make sure to try it! "

Fantastic property, superb location

"Our stay at Villa Bougainvillea was faultless from start to finish. The pictures of the Villa and its outstanding location do not do it justice. From the initial booking, Jennifer has been the perfect host, always responding to any queries in a timely manner and the checking in details were fantastic. We had a few issues with the water supply during our 10 day stay (something that is common in this area and we were aware of) but Jennifer did her utmost to rectify the situation and it did not affect our holiday at all. The villa has everything that you need to enjoy a relaxing break and the location is absolutely perfect for exploring western Crete. The views from the villa are breathtaking. Nearby Plaka and Almyrida are great for soaking up the holiday atmosphere with many great Tavernas. The locals are super friendly and you can be sure of a warm welcome. It was our first visit to Crete and we’ve no doubt that we’ll be returning. We have fallen completely in love with this island and made some everlasting family memories during our stay at this wonderful villa. Thank you Jennifer. "
