"Very good and family friendly experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, overall an excellent stay. The only complaint would be that dinner at 2 of the 4 restaurants felt a little like a conveyor belt where the priority seemed to be getting us fed and out as quickly as possible rather than having us enjoy the dining experience. With that said the experience at the other 2 restaurants was excellent."

"Staff were great, everything was clean, food was great. I only have 2 complaints really, 1. Between meals the snack bar didnt have much to eat so if you missed a meal even by a small bit you were stuck til the next meal. 2. The entertainment wasnt great. It felt like the activity people had a budget of like 0 bucks and mostly just played music. Would be nice to have more to do at the resort."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Kostefanos?

The best area to stay in Kostefanos is the central area around the main square. This area is the heart of Kostefanos and offers a convenient and pleasant base for your holiday. You'll find a selection of boutique hotels and guesthouses, many with stunning sea views. The main square, Plateia Eleftherias, is a bustling hub with traditional tavernas and cafes where you can enjoy local cuisine and watch the world go by. The narrow, pedestrian-friendly streets radiating from the square are great for a leisurely stroll, leading to small shops selling local crafts and produce. For couples seeking a romantic getaway, staying near the waterfront promenade, just a short walk from the main square, is ideal. Here, you can enjoy evening walks with beautiful sunset views over the Aegean Sea. Many hotels in this specific area offer private balconies and excellent dining options with a focus on fresh seafood. The relaxed pace and picturesque surroundings make it great for quality time together.Families will find the area just a little further back from the immediate waterfront, but still within easy reach of the main square, to be a good fit. These accommodations often provide more space, and you're still only a short walk from the local beach, Paralia Kostefanou, which is known for its calm waters and family-friendly facilities.

When is the best time to go to Kostefanos?

The best time to visit Kostefanos is during the shoulder seasons of May, June, September, and October. These months offer pleasant weather, with warm temperatures great for exploring the island without the intense heat and larger crowds of the peak summer months. You'll find the sea warm enough for swimming, and the natural landscape is often at its most beautiful, with blooming flowers in spring or the golden hues of autumn. For couples seeking a relaxing getaway, these shoulder months are ideal. You can enjoy strolls through the charming villages, dine al fresco at local tavernas, and visit historical sites in comfort. The fewer crowds mean a more intimate experience at popular attractions like the Palace of Knossos or the Samaria Gorge.Families travelling with younger children will also appreciate the milder temperatures during May and October. It's much more comfortable for little ones to enjoy the beaches and outdoor activities when the sun isn't at its strongest.
