Stayed to attend Grenfell and Woodstock shows!
Excellent stay, very comfortable and a great location bring remote from usual hustle and bustle. Just loved it.
We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay in Ben’s comfortable home. Everything we needed was there for us. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and serene. Thanks,Ben, for sharing your home with us.
At a beautiful location with extensive views across the valley to the east, this property provided a quiet couple of days with birdlife (and TV if needed) to entertain us. The house is spacious and comfortably furnished inside and out. Pub meals at Koorawatha are good, and close enough.
The house is situated on a hill overlooking picturesque sheep farms and hills. We used the fire pit outside each night and enjoyed the tranquility and views with a glass (or two) of wine. It was good having a full kitchen to cook our evening meals and during the day get out and explore the area.
Though off the beaten track, (small city car), we enjoyed views over the mountains with a beautiful full moon on arrival. Tranquil sounds of a farm including sheep, birds and the wind. Rustic and comfortabley furnished echoing a past history. Prime the Kelpie had a ball.
Lovely comfortable, clean house and beds.
Great views and fireplace prepared for lighting and wood supplied.
Fantastic for a relaxing country escape.
Everything you could ask for in kitchen incl plenty of tea and coffee pods and long life milk.
Ben was very approachable and had plans he could offer when the road to property was blocked by fallen tree. We didn't have to use plan B or C as we were able to clear road enough to get through but felt assured Ben could have given options.
Thanks Ben
We spent eight unforgettable nights here—a peaceful retreat from the bustle of life in Penrith, Sydney. It was just the four of us: my wife Marianni, our dog Keio, and my cousin Martine. From the moment we arrived, the house greeted us with warmth—both from the fireplace already lit, and the tidy, well-cared-for spaces that immediately felt like home. Each morning began with a quiet walk at sunrise, just us and the wide open sky, with Keio joyfully leading the way. In the evenings, we lit the fire pit and gathered around to roast marshmallows and enjoy simple barbecued meals, camping style. A glass of wine by the indoor fire, watching a film as the wind whispered outside, made winter here something magical. The sunrises and sunsets are truly breathtaking—nature’s theatre right at your doorstep. This place is more than just a house; it’s a little pocket of stillness and beauty, and we are deeply grateful for the time we spent here. We’ll definitely return.
Few km’s of dirt road on arrival and Apple Maps takes you to the front door. We parked at the back door which made it very easy to unpack. Conveniently, the back door opens onto a ‘mud room’ and bathrooms. A fully equipped kitchen with coffee pods after the long drive was a delightful addition. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the kids loved the playroom with toys, colouring and books. The fireplace was stacked and ready to go and very romantic to sit in front of together after the kids were in bed. We watched moonrise in each others arms and sunrise as a whole family overlooking the vast landscape whilst listening to the bleating sheep and lambs surrounding us. The firepit looked very inviting and we will bring marshmallows on our next stay. A short drive back into town (Koorawatha) had us eating Dutch pancakes at the show ground for morning tea. Provided visitors guides made it very easy for us to plan our days in Cowra and great novels and some games for adults helped us unwind. We are sad to leave really and hope to return same time next year (hopefully Iandra Castle is open next trip). Thank you to our host’s.
