"Absolutely unforgettable stay!We brought our whole extended family — my family of five, my brother’s family of five, and our parents — and this estate was beyond anything we hoped for. Set on 9.5 lush acres with sweeping ocean views, the property is full of rich history and character (built in 1972 by The Beach Boys, which we thought was the coolest detail).There are multiple homes on the property, so everyone had their own space, but we could still come together easily to enjoy meals, games, and relaxing by the pool and hot tub. Everything is immaculately maintained in its original condition — it’s like stepping into a timeless Hawaiian retreat.Our kids loved exploring the grounds, picking fresh bananas, limes, mangos, and more. The adults loved the peacefulness, the views, and just how special the whole place felt. It’s rare to find something this unique and serene — truly perfect for a multi-generational family gathering.We made lifelong memories here and can’t recommend it enough. If you’re considering it, just book it. You won’t regret it!"

"I’m always looking for a quiet place to get away from all of today’s modern stress. The house layout is perfect as you can rest inside and still see all the views or relax on the generous lanai. Walk down to view the ocean and schools of fish by the cliff. And best of all enjoy the plunge pool which is bigger than the pictures indicate. Loved our time here. "Dave and Wendy were excellent communicators regarding the check-in and check-out process. The VRBO had everything we needed for cooking, laundry, and escaping from the hustle and bustle of life. It was very convenient to get to Volcanoes National Park and Kona from their location. We loved using the French press coffee maker, enjoying the beautiful backyard view, and being surrounded by the sounds of nature. Stargazing in the backyard was one of our favorite memories at the place! 10/10 recommend"

"We have stayed at the colony I at sea mountain in pahala twice. We absolutely love this place, the people are veey nice and make you feel at home. I love the privacy and how quite it is. Its also a 5 minute walk to the beach where you can see the green sea trutles."

"This is our second time staying here. The yurts are lovely, comfortable and well equipped. The central skylight shows dazzling stars at night. Communication with Lisa is excellent and speedy and helpful. Love love love the view of South point from up where the weather is delightfully cool, but not cold. We hope to go back again if we can! "This house is exactly as described. Room for 8 (if 2 are thin and short or are children). The host is very communicative and helpful. The check in and check out process is very easy. There are games in the basement and the host has a whole shed of snorkels, fins, chairs, beach equipment, etc. Really great if you've come from far and obviously couldn't pack your own.Why this house might not be for you: it is rural. If you want to go to Kona it's 1 to 1 1/2 hours away. Volcanoes NPS is about 2 hours away. If you are looking for restaurants or activities, you will be doing a lot of driving. Except for a few beaches, most of them are a drive too because you're on a mountain...it's a slow, curvy ride everywhere.If you are a nervous driver or get carsick, this is not for you. The road is steeped and very curvy. My family doesn't get sick...until our last day. But it was fun to see the mongooses and wild pigs in the road. If you like long, hot showers, this is not for you. There is little water in this area...you can't drill a well into volcanic rock and there's no public water. So you are taking short showers as the host requests. Also, I don't think I ever had a HOT shower. Even if I insisted on taking a 2-minute shower before my kids, the water would get warm (I always describe it as "llama spit") but never hot. "

"This property was very clean and well-stocked with many items to make our stay very comfortable. The views are beautiful and we did enjoy a round of golf. It’s not in great shape, but the reviews are stunning! We really enjoyed the outdoor living part of this home. The pool was wonderful to have; however, the listing stated it was heated, but should be clarified to say “solar heated”. We would definitely come back to stay at this property again!"

"A nice location away from the hustle and bustle of Kona but within reach of Captain Cook and Volcanoe / Hilo areas. We enjoyed our short stay chilling on the deck and exploring the farm with short drives to 2 step snorkelling and coffee farms and cafes. Nice place to return after a long day of exploring. "
