Just steps from Poipu Beach Park and Brennecke’s Beach, this is an original plantation-style cottage, lovingly renovated and beautifully appointed. It features a new fully-equipped kitchen with granite counters, new bath plus an outdoor shower, two bedrooms, screened lanai, and landscaped garden. Its high ceilings, giant airy windows, island furnishings and tropical ceiling fans in each room give you the feeling of 'paradise of old.'

The home is in a charming beachfront neighborhood on a quiet street. Stroll to Brennecke’s Beach, famous for its perfect boogie boarding waves, or Poipu Beach, which, with calmer water and beautiful snorkeling, is always rated one of the top ten Hawaii beaches. Everything Poipu has to offer is a beautiful walk away on either the Koloa Heritage Trial or the Poipu Kai Greenbelt. This is includes restaurants, shopping, adventure outfitters, tennis courts, pickle courts, playground, and, of course, those beautiful beaches. Two great golf courses are just a mile’s drive.

A PERFECT POIPU DAY

Awake to the sounds of palm fronds and waves, and enjoy coffee on the screened lanai.

Grab your snorkel and walk to Poipu Beach to enjoy the morning fish in the warm calm waters.

Play a round of golf or join in a tennis clinic at one of the beautiful facilities near the cottage. Then sit down for a patio lunch at a local cafe.

Walk to Nukomoi’s to rent stand-up paddleboards and try this new favorite sport. Or take boogie boards from the cottage to try the waves at Brennecke’s.

Wonderful Cottage Stay!

This is an awesome property! It was very charming and in excellent condition, with plenty of space. The beach is a very short walk away. All the living/sleeping spaces were very comfortable, and the cottage was well-outfitted with everything we needed (kitchen, bath, beach chairs & umbrella, beach towels, etc). Highly recommended!

Short walk from beach and very comfortable house

We loved our stay here. It's only a few hundred meters from the beach, but down a very quiet residential road so you're out of the fray. The kitchen has what you need and the screened in porch is a great place to relax with fresh air out of the sun. Highly recommend staying here and hope to be back.

Perfect stay!

Visited Kauai for the first time with my husband and two toddlers. This was the perfect place to stay! We spent a lot of time down the street at the beach, and all the amenities of this house made it so easy. We enjoyed using all the beach gear, the lovely outdoor shower, the washer and dryer. The house was very clean, and the beds were so comfortable. My kids were able to share a room, and the portable crib really helped. We loved this place so much!

Perfect place to stay in Poipu!

The little yellow bungalow was the perfect accommodations for our group of 3. Its steps away from the beach, close to shopping and restaurants. Pam, the host, is attentive and welcoming. Definitely returning to this lovely home.

Perfect Poipu Cottage!

Our family loved our trip. The owner was great with communication and every detail was thought out - from the great stocked (and modern) kitchen, grill and outdoor dining, lovely lanai with fan where we spent so much time, outdoor shower and beautiful decor, we were so happy. And we loved we could walk to the beaches, Puka dog, and other restaurants. Would definitely return!

The VRBO description is accurate. Quiet street 100 yards from the beach. Well appointed kitchen for making meals at home. A/C in bedrooms is great as it gets hot in the afternoon. Has all the stuff you need for the beach and an outside shower. Would come back

We want to come back!

We loved this happy home! The moment we entered the door, we felt right at home. Check in was easy! After visiting Kauai (our favorite island), we stayed a week on Maui, and my sweatshirt had been tucked in my suitcase and I smelled it and said “Oh it smells (good) like the Kauai home, I miss it already!” The washing machine was a huge plus, and the air conditioning! They had tons of beach toys and chairs! We loved the grill! Everything was clean, the beds were comfy and they had plenty of hangers to hang our clothes so we didn’t have to live out of a suitcase while visiting! The safe gave us extra peace of mind and it was within a couple of minutes walking distance to the beach. Thank you for everything! I can’t say enough good things about this home, it will forever be a core memory for our vacation! We loved playing uno and relaxing here between our adventures! The host binder/booklet was the most well thought out and sincere binder that I’ve ever seen at a rental property. 10/10! It was wonderful.

A week in paradise

We absolutely loved our stay in this sweet yellow cottage amidst palms and ocean breezes. It was the ideal perch for our family of four, including our 4- and 7-year old sons, with the sun porch being the highlight - our kids loved reading and working on their scrapbooks on the porch, and eating fallen mangoes they’d found in the yard! The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well-equipped and spacious, and the property had absolutely everything you’d want for kids on the beach, from toys to umbrellas to a wagon to transport it all! THIS is why you rent a house instead of getting a hotel, friends. Heaven.

Not our typical

This was our 4th trip to Kauai and this one was long overdue. We fly from the east coast on the mainland and typically enjoy staying Kilauea where it's quiet and off the beaten path. We decided to start out closer this time (first 4 nights of our stay) to the airport due to the long flight. This cottage ended up being just about perfect. Love the layout, big well equipped kitchen (we like to cook), screened in lanai and excellent proximity to many things we enjoy doing on the island. All amenities very good and the bedrooms/beds comfy and cozy. We really enjoyed being able to walk to Poipu beach in 2 mins as the cottage is very close to a lot of the action there, but when spending time in the cottage was nice and quiet. Property is very beautiful. In the past we've never stayed in a place that had AC, but were thankful it had bedroom units as the cottage really warms up during the day. By mid-day it was quite warm, so turning on the unit in the bedroom a few hours before bedtime made it very comfortable to sleep. They're a bit noisy but, oh well. Overall we loved this place and when we return in the future would strongly consider renting it again.

Family vacation in Poipu

I would round up my stay to 3.5 stars but I listed it as 3 stars because of cleanliness issues. The property looks so bright and cheerful in the listing but in reality it just didn't feel clean and felt a bit dingy. For example, the master bed had a huge dust coating over the bedframe which felt disconcerting as you don't want to sleep in a dusty bed. The ceiling fans and towel rack over the toilet were coated in dust...The ants were also horrible. They list this as a problem in the property instructions but we were careful with food and still found ants in the shower and our suitcases. They attacked a nightguard in its case on the bedside table--just really gross. Again, things didn't feel clean. Even some of the dishes in the cabinets were coated with sticky residue. And there weren't as many personal touches as I'm used to with VRBOs. No filtered water or soap provided. The location was stellar; five minute walk to the beach. But we were a bit let down by the property.

Absolutely loved our stay at this cottage in Poipu. It had everything we needed for a beach-centric vacation on Kaua’i. It is a short walk to Poipu and Brennecke’s beach, Puka Dog’s, and the Nukomoi surf shop. It’s also a 10 minute drive to Kōloa which has all the shops and restaurants you’d ever need plus a Big Save for grocery store items. You can also walk up to Kalapaki Joe’s for happy hour and not have to drive back home! There are quite a few rentals on the street but the local neighbors are also quite friendly - some shared fresh mango with us during our stay. Despite not having a beach view, we didn’t feel like we were missing out at all - the beach is so close and you can hear the waves in the morning and evenings while relaxing on the covered porch. We split our Kaua’i vacation between this property and a condo on the beach and I think we decided we’d have preferred the beach house experience in Poipu for the full stay if we could go back in time. 9.8/10. Awesome property. Would love to stay again!

Yellow House

The house is cute and is well set up with supplies. It is an easy walk to the beach, which was very nice. The AC is only in the bedrooms (stated in the description) and it is very loud. The rest of the house gets pretty hot. If you are sensitive to heat this would be something to consider.

Beautiful Beach Cottage

Myself, spouse and 2 teens had an amazing stay at this beautiful beach cottage. The cottage is well stocked with everything you could need including anything needed for a beach day(ie. wagon, chairs, water shoes, snorkel equipment, boogie boards) We loved the screened in porch and outdoor shower. 2 minute walk to the Poipu Beach, Brennecke;'s Beach, Puka Dog and Brennecke’s Beach Boiler and snack shop.

Perfect South Shore Home
