What badly altered our experience was the way a rare incident was handled by the owner. There was an overflow of wastewater in our room. The man who was supposed to empty the wastewater tank had apparently too much work and hadn't been able to come. "If you are looking for a small town Crete experience this is a good place for that. Everyone was friendly, the house was cute and looked like the pictures. The hosts dinner recommendation, a short walk away, for Ethimiko, was very good. The only real issue we had was that the WiFi was not connecting in the room. If you want a disconnected experience this is your spot. The host did let us know they are working on getting a router for the room so this may be fixed soon. "

"Great little hotel if you're looking for somewhere affordable to stay near Heraklion airport. You are not downtown at all, but there is a more commercial street close by (few minutes by foot) with restaurants, and a few basic necessity shops. Great pool and patio, quiet, basically residential neighbourhood, super nice staff (hello Maria!) and, as mentioned, about 5 minutes by taxi from the airport (be prepared to hear planes take-off, but rooms are very well sound insulated)."
