I have just had 5 nights at this fantastic guest house. From the welcome on the steps by Colleen and Cecil, to our leaving today, it has been exceptional in every department. The decor, space, breakfast, attention to detail and a tremendous knowledge of the area shared by Coleen. Anyone wanting to visit in this lovely area could not have a better accommodation ti stay in. 10/10 👍

Super stay at the Hide Away

We had a fabulous stay and were made very welcome. Colleen gave us great restaurant recommendations and kindly made reservations too. All of the restaurants were excellent. Our room was very comfortable with excellent views. The lounge area was great for evening card games with friends. Cecil makes a really tasty breakfast, the eggs were super!! Thanks Cecil 😀

Cecil and Colleen who were our hosts were so friendly and helpful, and our Premier Room's sea view from our room and private balcony was superb. Breakfasts were so enjoyable, with a good choice of cold and cooked food. Parking was also great and secure.

Das Zimmer war sehr schön und hatte einen tollen Blick auf die Lagune. Alles war sehr sauber und die Ausstattung war von guter Qualität. Sehr gutes Frühstück. Die Lage ist auch sehr gut, nicht weit zum Zentrum oder Hafenviertel mit Gaststätten und Geschäften.

We had such a lovely stay at Hide Away Guest House Knysna. We felt such a warm welcome on our arrival there. Stunning room and oh that view of the lagoon is just breathtaking. And on top of all, delicious breakfast served every morning. We definitely recommend them to each and everyone x

Knysna Classic

Colleen and Cecil were always available, friendly and helpful with tips about restaurants and site-seeing. The house was built in 1940 and is opposite the Knysna lagoon, just next to the N2 Highway on the way into/out of town. The house was classily decorated but the room had air conditioning, electric blankets, espresso machine, outdoor sitting area on the veranda and views of the heads. Breakfast was nice with plunger coffee, cheeses, eggs, muesli, fruit and juice. A lovely couple interested in current events and filling us in on their part of the world.

If I need to look for a place to stay I will choose another place. The picture are elusion. No value for your money The place are old. The room smells old There is no a private balcony as the picture. No privacy at all!!!The forget to worth the the most busy road N2 it’s in a front of the room and it’s very crowded from the cars. It’s difficult to sleep. No hot weather . It’s not worth the money.!!!

I thought that the property was more secluded rather than being a short distance from the main road. The room was very pleasant as was our hostess. The area was very nice and easy walking distance from the tourist areas. As a general comment on the garden route I would not recommend it and am surprised that it is so highly reviewed. I was very disappointed.
