This motel was just what we were looking for- friendly, quiet, affordable, and plenty trees & grass around the property. It is far enough away from all the busyness but also close enough to Portsmouth, restaurants, and the beaches that makes it so convenient. We will definitely be booking here again and making this one of our vacation spots every summer.

Perfect Old Fashioned New England Hotel Experience

From the wood panel walls to the standard key lock, nothing said "New and Improved" about this property, but it was clean, well kept and charming. Definitely would return.

The location is convenient to eateries, fueling and Kittery Outlet Mall-all within short driving distance. Northeaster's owners are gracious and welcoming, Housekeeping staff did a great job in keeping everything clean and neat. The only drawback is poor Internet connection. This is essential for folks like me, though others may prefer the sense of isolation.

Overall, liked

Overall, we liked our accommodations, but were very disappointed with the hardness of the mattress and the "crater" on one side of the mattress. Also, the shower had very low pressure, but water was good and hot. We also didn't appreciate the neighbors talking loudly around 1 or 2 in the morning, but that isn't your fault. Could hear them right through the wall.

Property was nice overall. Staff was a bit odd, guy yelled at me because he swiped my card twice and I didn’t want him to do it a third time. Finally the owner lady came out and told him to F off. The room was quiet but was very dirty with stained sheets and only half roll of TP. I give it a 3 star rating but I wouldn’t return simply because I prefer a bit cleaner room and staff that doesn’t question my payment methods.

Almost impossible to get a hold of property owners. Got there and found out they lied about the pool. He claimed it was Expedia's fault for not removing the pool from the amenities but its clearly advertised on the motel's website as well. The man was rude and quite paranoid. Wife is extremely kind though and spent one of the mornings we were checked in visiting the patrons and offering assistance.

I'm pretty sure the bed in our room is a violation of the Geneva Convention. Fester Addams might have found it very comfortable, but we prefer something that doesn't feel like granite with steel spikes rammed through it. My child couldn't fall asleep until after 4:30 am because it hurt so much to lie on this torture device. I might have gotten an hour or so of sleep in the minute or two here and there between fitful rolling from side to back to other side, trying to spread the torture out to different body parts to increase tolerance. Before that, I had the pleasure of showering in a tiny shower stall with bands of mold where the 3 panels of the shower walls kinda-sorta met. Nice big gaps so the mold can really go crazy. In addition to the mold and the grime that was all over the walls in the bathroom, the water pressure suggests a garden gnome was pouring it from a little watering can. Then I got to try to dry off with 2 tiny bath towels. They're the perfect size for a 5-year-old. The internet signal was not strong, but not impossibly weak. The room lacked outlets. Literally 2 available plugs, 1 by the bed and 1 in bathroom. General cleanliness was lacking. I was surprised to find some toiletries in the room. This is all as I expected for a room in this price range. The torture bed, the mold, and the filthy bathroom walls were not expected nor appreciated.

It is cheap, but not worth it.

You get what you pay for. I tried a few motels on our trip to see the leaves and this place was awful. And for just under $100 it was not worth it. I think $30 would be a good price. It was super dirty with hair clumps on the sheets, huge spiders and webs in the corners and it just wasn't cleaned. There is a larger town across the river which we should have stayed at, but this place took the cake for the worst place I have stayed in. Just pass it up. The check in was simple, grab your key from the dark tiny office and return it in the box the next day.

Terrible service

Review of Northeaster Motel, Kittery, ME I recently stayed at the Northeaster Motel and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. Upon checking in, I was shocked by the extremely small size of the room. The door nearly hit the bed when I opened it, which was quite unsettling. The issues continued when we returned from dinner. I went to the lobby to get some ice, only to find out that they do not have an ice machine—something that seems quite basic for a motel. The bed was another major problem. It was incredibly hard and uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. The following morning, I mentioned these concerns to the manager when returning the room key. Instead of addressing the issues professionally, the manager responded in an extremely rude manner, telling me to “go and never come back.” This kind of customer service was completely unacceptable and only added to our frustration.
