"We had a great holiday. We stay for 4 nights ( 4 adults and 2 children (10 and 6)). The lodge is very cosy and it is very spacious. My son was very happy watching the ducks swimming in the pond. "Lovely caravan which was very clean and dog friendly. Well stocked including bowls for doggy. Communication from the owners was excellent. They even sent us a list of dog friendly walks some with dog friendly pubs. Lovely dog friendly pub Mason Arms just across the road from the camp where they let doggy sit under the table whilst owners had a meal. It was a small caravan site which was quiet and well laid out just what we needed."

"This was a great break in a gorgeous property. Everything was as described, including the facilities and location / proximity to the beach. I had no concerns about the dogs in the garden with the high and fully secure fence and all rooms were spacious to accommodate us. This was our third stay in Southerness and most certainly the best property we have stayed in. We will be back."

Wish we could have stayed longer
"Stayed for one night, on our way back down from Scotland. Had a lovely time here, and wished we could have stayed longer. Arrived around 6pm, very easy parking and checking in to our room. Then had a lovely meal downstairs in the Penny Blue restaurant attached to the hotel. Food was served very quickly, and the staff were attentive. The room itself was excellent, very spacious with a comfortable bed. It did get a little warm in the night for our taste, but they had a fan available which helped. It’s an apartment hotel, so came with a very well kitted out kitchen. Great for self catering, but we chose the breakfast restaurant downstairs. They did us a nice poached egg breakfast. Perfect location to explore the town centre, cathedral and castle. We checked out at 11, and went to explore the town. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful, no problem applying the parking discounts later in the day. Note that the car park can get very busy, it was pretty much full when we loaded our suitcases at 11, and when we left a few hours later. "
