  • Poppy Cottage is a wonderful couples retreat in beautiful Norfolk, conveniently situated just outside the village of Docking and within easy each of the coast at Heacham and Hunstanton.

    With modern interiors and stylish decor, you will feel right at home as soon as you arrive. Entering into the lounge, there are lovely views to the front and rear with comfortable sofas, charming electric wood-burner effect fire and television so you can cosy up and relax after a long day of exploring the local area. The kitchen is very well equipped, with dishwasher, washing machine, full oven, fridge freezer, kettle and toaster, meaning you will have everything on hand to cook up your favourite holiday cuisine and a wonderful dining space enjoys peaceful views across the countryside.

    Upstairs, the bedroom is light, well dressed and spacious, looking out over the treetops and holds a king-size bed, with an en-suite comprising of shower enclosure, basin and WC. For your comfort the cottage is outfitted with an additional modern and tiled bathroom, with a full size bath with shower over, basin and WC.

    Outside, there is a generous enclosed garden to the rear, with garden furniture on the patio. Great for spending time outdoors, bringing a BBQ or enjoying a touch of evening sunshine after exploring the local area. There is ample off-road parking a short walk from the cottage.

    Locally, there is plenty to see and do, with Docking providing extensive amenities close by, including a great selection of pubs, cafes, restaurants and independent shops, and a local market on a Wednesday. The coast is only a 10-minute drive away, with plenty of various stretches of the coastline to enjoy to the north and to the west. Other local attractions include, the Royal Sandringham Estate, abundant winter bird watching and the popular town of Brancaster.

Great location and garden for our needs. Comfortable and peaceful.

The garden was completely enclosed which was excellent with our dog. A good location for visiting the local beaches, Sandringham and Holkham Estate. Quiet with excellent parking. The kitchen was not well planned, with little space for preparing meals. The cooker was in need of a thorough clean inside.

The garden was enclosed for the dogs and it was dog friendly there was nothing specifically wrong with the property but the decoration was basic and rooms small for what it cost.

Lovely cottage in Norfolk

Lovely cottage, warm and welcoming with everything we needed. Garden was wonderful. The host was very welcoming and the welcome gifts were very much appreciated. The only thing would be to have a larger pan, the pans were quite small if more than 2.
