This garden-view ground-level condo is the perfect spot to enjoy some aloha at this beachfront complex.

There are no roads to cross, just walk out of this well-appointed ground-level unit and you're just steps to the ocean. During whale season, January through April, you can see whales breaching from the sandy shores of Sugar Beach and keep a close eye out for turtles too. Plant your chair in the sand or take a long stroll along the beach. No matter what time of year, it's hard to beat seeing the sunrise or sunset at Sugar Beach.

The property is just a short 5 minute beach walk to a farmer's market with local island fruits and vegetables or 10 minute walk to Kealia Pond National Wildlife Refuge.
At any time of year, you can spot turtles or even dolphins out front. If you need any gear to snorkel or paddle out on the water it's as easy as visiting Maui Sights and Treasures located on property for rental equipment.

We had a great stay at Sugar Beach. The condo is older, but clean and perfect for our stay. We enjoyed the pool area, and access to the beach. We felt safe at all times. The kitchen had everything we needed for our stay.

Perfect Sugar Beach stay

The location is great and the suite was perfect for us. Beach is just steps away and the pool right out front. Parking is right out back with no extra charge. Reception at Resort is very helpful. Theresa was a great host and there when I needed her. Thank you again great place and hope to visit again.

Another Amazing Stay

This is our second stay at Sugar beach and it was another great experience. The ability to walk out the door and be in the pool or the beach within a few steps can’t be beaten. The resort has great amenities. When we come back to Maui next we hope to stay here again.

Wonderful trip!

This was our second time staying in this specific unit at Sugar Beach Resort and once again we were incredibly happy with our stay. Clean and a wonderful location. The bed is definitely not the most comfortable but besides that we couldn’t have been happier and are looking forward to our next stay!

My girlfriend and I stayed here last summer and had an amazing time. Clean property, beach access as well as a pool, hot tub, and bbqs. We truly loved the stay. The property manager was very nice and helpful the whole stay. Also ! There is a bar/ grille which served sandwiches and hot dogs as well as other snack time items 20 feet from our room. Amazing and will be back

Hawaiian Relaxation

The place was very clean and the bed was really comfortable. Myself being middle aged I have some concerns about the bed and my back when I stay away from home. This bed was just right being at medium-hard firmness. The sheets could be upgraded to deep pocket corners as they would sometimes ride up the mattress. The kitchen had all amenities needed . I was happy to find a wine bottle opener (after we bought a bottle). I would suggest to get a hand lemon juicer. The coffee maker had grains in the tank portion from previous tenants. I wiped out most of the grains. I would suggest to replace as it looks to be near end of life. The living room was inviting and the couch was comfortable. We didn’t use the dining area as we had our meals on the patio. The property was very clean. We chose this property because of beach/ocean access and we were ecstatic with the beach, ocean, birds and sunsets. Mahalo, Larry and Maria

Excellent location with some unit issues

5 star: Grounds, location of the unit, check in process and access to manager. Well cleaned. Mattress and blinds. Fridge and AC work well! Issues: very minimally stocked with essentials, ( no sugar, salt or pepper, dryer sheets, shampoo or conditioner etc etc) for a few dollars you could really provide one use essentals to your guests that are standard in every other hotel or vrbo i have rented. No real beach equipment and very minimal kitchen supplies. Lots of glass in the unit but no cleaning supplies like windex or clorox even in the supplies closet. Nice to be able to clean the glass or toilet on a 5 day stay. I agree with the reviewer that said this is abnormal for maui VRBO and guests should know. Fan over the bed clicks and has broken glass, had issues with hot water that the manager immediately tried to address. Someone hit my parked car in the parking structure resulting in an insurance claim.

The room was adequate for our needs. Communication with the host was good. The room could use a deep clean and some items are in need of replacement. Enjoyed the spacious, comfortable, conveniently located unit for a week. Hawaii themed living room, ground floor location, well equipped kitchen, spacious bedroom with king bed. The lanai was sizable with a table and chairs, and connected directly to the grounds. The central location makes access to the rest of the island convenient.
